AMAZING.
The cave, the avalanche barriers, the pillows, the buildings, the ice, the scenery, the skill, fantastic. Loved it.

you should be able to find a link on you tube to a short film about how they made it on Red Bull channel, it's well worth a watch too. The whole descent movie was filmed over a couple of seasons, massive amount of work. You get to see all the out takes and practice runs with his mates, it is truly epic stuff and pretty nail biting too

That early part, where he is skiing over what looks to be a glacier, how does he avoid falling into a crevice and coming a cropper?

It might be advertising soft drinks but it's much much more. Welcome to the world.

Who thinks this is a suitable topic for my next video - Are you bored enough to watch me test my home made skis?

As a kid I did something similar, except I wanted to walk on water, not snow.

I took my armbands and put them around my ankles. Needless to say I nearly drowned.

Very impressive - I know it will have been prepared and practised, but a lot of that was done blind on the day with no multiple sets of tracks or landing marks in the fresh snow.

Yeah it's insane, but it's so much better when you don't see any marks from previous landings.
I like to think that everything is a one bang! 😅

The behind the scenes footage is on RedBull tv HERE

Sheesh.
My admiration for people with those sort of skillz knows no bounds. Astonishing.

It's going to take some time I'm afraid. Have you got anyone that can sit with you just in case?

Where would competitive mountain biking be without sugary drink ads?

That video is epic. My favourite bits were the huge, floaty turns. Dreamy!

Loved it. Cheers!

So I'm not the only one that tried that then? Although I wasn't trying to walk on water!

Epic editing skills but that doesn’t take skiing talent?

I just saw lots of bits of skiing edited together got bored of it in the end

Yep..this. Apart from the ice cave bit, there's nothing special about it...there's plenty of equally good and better "first decent" skiing and snowboarding videos out there

Didn't say it was shit (or that I'm angry!)....just nothing special (ok if you've not watched any/many snowboarding/skiing films, it is. But I have and it isn't)

I enjoyed it immensely. The only thing that frustrates me is e.g watching the first section whn he makes lovely huge sweeping turns down the steep face, dropping off seracs and landing beautifully. He makes it look so easy I start thinking, "Oh I want to do that"

then I think back to the off-piste skiing I've done where I've been on stuff that wasn't nearly as steep as that and quite frankly nearly papped myself

Ah well, we all enjoy different things...
