Accordion, yes. My mistake.
three minute radio slot
Good call on radio edits.
The radio version of Straight Outta Compton is so utterly different without the rudey words, that they might as well, and I wish they wouldn't, play it at all. 🤔
Versus
Love this song, hate the discordant twiddling at 7.30
Grrr!
I dislike it when a good song/tune with a long middle instrumental is edited to fit a three minute radio slot. I suppose its single vs album track.
Plenty of examples of this, but also plenty of examples where songs get needlessly extended. IMHO, the 7" single version of Elephant Stone by the Stone Roses is a great example of less is more - a proper pop song with a proper ending that doesn't outstay it's welcome
Don’t like guitar solos...except on The Cardiacs ‘Is This The Life’
It’s also the only song in the world where I actually like the sax playing.
All in all a pretty epic song.
Choppersquad - YES. You are worthy of laudation...
Not sure how much I like the song, let alone love it, however, Frank Sinatra, Strangers in the Night; dooby dooby doo!!! For Christ’s sake, Frank
Oh, by the way:
you’re all wrong about Baker Street.
So there. 😉😜
C’mon people Darthpunk has a strong music opinion.. ATTACK!
He currently doesn't have your form Dez! We will be watching though 😀
Any song which contains a lyric about the song itself bugs me. eg. “Why do I find it hard to write the next line” — but that’s ok, cos I hate the whole song.
Reminded me of a Cake song I like, "sad Songs and Waltzes". Went to google the lyric to remind me of it, and it turns out it was one of Willie Nelson's.
You always* learn something on a music thread.
*sometimes.
