My point is that I don’t think the slogan of the STW community should be, ‘It may be morally dubious but it’s not illegal’

I kind of get your point, but I’m not seeing anything morally dubious either. That’s the thing with morals, everyone. has a different set. This is one of the safest, tamest places on the Internet.

The community have been trying to solve modern communication and inclusivity issues, progressing the compassion and empathy boundaries so that future generations can benefit from a wider understanding of themselves and others.... You went out on yer bike💩,

20 reported posts? I've lost track of who's jumped on who etc, on a thread about a woman who wouldn't serve alcohol at Tesco (hypothetically) As far as I can understand a member has got upset because of something. This is bad, but dose happen. Mostly unintentionally I think, as my experience of people on here are super PC/nice/liberal/inclusive etc. No crime has taken place. I think we should all put are pencils away and have a nice cup of tea.

It is the responsibility of the autistic person to try to be as self-aware as possible when trying to interpret social communication

Yep, this is how I have made things better for myself. It also helps to have a wife of 20 years that points out when I have said, acted or taken something different to what would be seen as 'normal' behaviour.

However, I still have to be prepared to deal with the "who is that rude, anti social person" as the vast majority of people are not thinking whether someone is different than they are.

And how’s that working out for you all?

If you peer past the shit stained underpants in the dirty laundry I think there is some inspiration and light to be found. People trying to reach out and understand one another without judgement or insults, discussing one another's flaws and weaknesses while growing on a personal level post by post. It's challenging yet exciting, it's draining yet rewarding, it is progress and the future looks a little brighter today thanksforasking💖
How was the ride?

Boring and mainly repetitive as I was going over the same ground. But at least you lot weren’t doing it round Didcot like I was.

I haven't read anything up to this point. But is any of this in any way related to Nicky Tesco, vocalist from The Members?

Do you have yuppies in the grim Northern wastelands?

How do they qualify? Own a flat cap of their rather than renting one?

There is a really good article in the Guardian today about unconscious bias and how we judge information based on our pre-existing viewpoints.

Facts v feelings: how to stop our emotions misleading us

Worth a read

The more we get into the habit of counting to three and noticing our knee-jerk reactions, the closer to the truth we are likely to get.

All of us would do well to remember this.

Can people stop talking about "the real world", as if our behaviour if "typed" rather than "spoken" has no effect on people... this is not a simulation... this forum is used by real people with a joint love (or in some cases past love) of mountain biking... all should be welcome.

Point of order, the moderators are volunteers, we do not have a "job." Plenty of forums do not have moderators at all even.

There’s a surprising number of posts on this thread that have been reported,

We see reported posts, removed posts etc in different colours. This thread looks like an explosion in a unicorn factory.

I genuinely have not read this in either of the threads. Just really not seeing that this is what happened. I saw a viewpoint being challenged and possibly tempers flaring a bit

I'm not as aware as I should be, but I'm glad somebody else feels that way. I've taken my fair share of grief from people on here recently and thrown my toys out the pram at times, but I've not seen anything in these two threads to make me feel that a legal line has been crossed, intentionally or otherwise

So what if people have different viewpoints or use different language to what you do...it's the tapestry of life! People come on here to share experiences, ask for advice and occasionally there is someone who has an alternative viewpoint that you'll debate with and that's it.

That George Floyd thread was a fascinating read with some superb discussions that opened my eyes to things i didnt quite realise and also reinforced what i already believed.

I don't know why people get so excited about it? Wouldn't it be a fantatsically dull world (and forum!) if we all agreed with each other and just spoke about the weather....or even worse didnt discuss things because of any ramifications that we may be threatened with?

I still would like Kylie Friday to be reinstated though going forward! 🙂

I am so hoping that was your film.
Otherwise it has serious "Winter is Coming" vibes.

On a go-forward basis, just so I know, how would I know?

If I had or had not had a post reported?

The Dark Night

Is that the one where the Joker tries to bring down the world for no reason or plan?

Great film one of my favourites.

Also known as Tin Man.

IIRC he was a bit heartless.

I know I have.. cos I reported it myself! Realised I’d taken something in cyberspace far too seriously...like it was the real world. Twit.
