Hi Guys, anyone know where the best pub will be to watch the Olympic road race going by? Couldn't get tickets for anything so figured coming down with friends and sitting in the pub to cheer on Cav each time he passes is the next best thing!

Advice gratefully received, cheers :o)

http://www.lookmumnohands.com/ in Old Street. Not technically a pub but a great bikey place nonetheless.

The Road Race won't go past there (unless they are lost) - but you'll get the best view!

From a rough look at the route, and half-remembered knowledge of living in London back in the day, there's a pub on the Fulham side of Putney bridge at the big junction there that would be a good vantage point. Used to be an O'Neill's that was handy for a pint en route to going to see Fulham.

You'd get a good view of the peloton coming from way off, over the bridge and zooming past the pub.

What a brilliant looking place! Thanks, I'll definitely check it out next time I'm up in London but maybe not for the Olympics.

I was under the impression the race was doing repeated loops of a shorter course but obviously I was wrong. My plan to cheer from the roadside and neck a pint inbetween passes has been ruined! Will have a rethink.

Well the only place if you want to guarantee seeing him more than once from a single location is Box Hill.

They are going to be looping a circuit section, but it's further out into Surrey (including Box hill). The route goes out from central London, does a few laps (7 for the men I think), then back into town to finish on the Mall.
