So, a minimum of a month at home trying to fill the time....dark nights to contend with this time too.....how are we going to fill the time then?
First time around I seem to remember:
Binge Watching Tiger King
Zoom pub quiz's
Joe Wickes related stuff
Growing a ridiculous hair do
At one point I remember enjoying washing the dishes ffs!
Nothing much changes for me. Hopefully I’ll still be working and riding my bike when I’m not working. Been avoiding pubs and restaurants since March anyway.
Had the trainer set up all summer!
Hair? Not seen any of that for thirty years 😄
Been to the pub just once (meal at lunchtime) since March, doubt I'll miss it now.
i'll still be going into work 1-2 days per week, plodding through the 100 days of exercise and trying to get a decent ride in at weekends.
Other than that - i need to do my Tax return, a couple of photo books for my folks and have an old, rusty, handle-less butchers cleaver that i want to recycle into a 'BBQ Knife'
I've only had ten days holiday from work this year even though I've been in the house since mid-March.
Started digging out my spare parts to sell off that i didn't get around to in the first lockdown..mrs nuke was appalled i had 14 pairs of forks to sell. Should keep me out of mischief for a bit 😬
I lost my job at the start of the last lockdown, so I spent 3 months doing jobs around the garden, building a shed, knocking down an old rickety lean to, having bbq's and riding my bike.
Now I have a job, so I will be working, and riding my bike.

This has been highlighted as a significant risk in our workplace to the extent that Directors have been told to tell their teams to use their annual leave or it will be lost (and not replaced with cash!)
Holiday usage is down by about 35% on a normal year and there's the risk that we get to March (which is a massively busy time for us with end of financial year) and everyone wants to take 3 weeks off.
Activities - meh, nothing much will change for me. Local rides just with lights and warm kit now. Still WFH. Local cafe should still be doing take-away.

Me too. Very grateful to still be in that position.

Our whole office is closing a week early for Christmas as people have so many holidays left. We can only carry forward a max of 5 days into next year.
This is further complicated by our employer giving us all an extra 5 days holiday in 2021 as a reward for all our hard work this year.
Working
Riding my bike
Summoning up enough enthusiasm to do my tax return
More holidays is never a complication!.
Work allowing us to carry over 10 this year, but I only have 11 left, canny see that happening.
Running
Turbo
Running
Odd bit of Zoom
Crap TV
Running
Drinking
So pretty normal times them.
Trying to get out of bed.
Well this is nowhere near as light hearted as I'd imagined!!
So if we're being serious....I'll be carrying on WFH two and a bit days per week teaching guitar. Then two days a week I'm starting part time job as a delivery driver.
Not managed to get my bike fixed in time so still no riding, so it'll be plenty of walking again on our days off. We've been due to complete on our house sale for the last few weeks....not going to happen this week, but should happen within the next month!
Hopefully Netflix have got another must watch series up their sleeves, and we'll definitely be doing lots of Zoom social nights again.
EDIT....Tax return....cheers for the reminder!
Welp, we've just had our first snow here, so outdoor sports are pretty much off until there's a proper base down for skiing.
So, uh, drinking, trying not to drink some days, and self-pleasure, really. Oh, and maybe the odd jigsaw.
Even Zoom quizzes have lost their appeal.
Working, riding and walking. Jiggered back at the moment so no bike for now, Can't see much changing for me as I dont really do shops/pubs anyway!

Both of these actions are breaking the law.
You're entitled to holidays - as I've written once today, that's what 'statutory' means - and you're legally entitled to carry over up to ten days (the legislation changed from five a few months ago).
What an employer can do is force you to take them. "You've got 15 days left, so you're not working next week."
Apart from expecting to be working full time it's going to be the same as the last seven months - short walks and occasional forays on the bike. More reading and sitting by the fire watching storms. Got a Kendal film pass - should give me a healthy amount of armchair adventuring until Christmas.
No change really. Riding. Running. Procrastination.
Looking forward to a healthier bank balance from not buying coffee etc etc.
I might actually ride my road bike. I rode it loads in March, April and May then lost the love for it completely. I've ordered a Fanatic Fly Air SUP so that will be used on the local rivers at weekends if the wind decides to bugger off for a bit. Although I do have 8 days holiday left to use by December 31st so I may take a couple of days to float around on it in the week.
What an employer can do is force you to take them. “You’ve got 15 days left, so you’re not working next week.”
Can they force you to take said 15 days when they say so?
Or can they just force you to use them all in the last three weeks before your holiday year resets?
Same as the last few weeks - a lot of work, doing the 100 day exercise challenge, some DIY (we bulk bought paint at the weekend!), and cooking. New recipe books arrived for some lockdown inspiration. No real change from lockdown 1.0, and like then wishing I had a haircut more recently! Oh and installing the power rack in the garage.
I’m a bit worried actually. The only thing that kept me going through the last lockdown was going for weekly rides with my son. He’s not up for riding in winter (and! now has a girlfriend !) and I won’t be able to see my woman as she has to support her mother and kids... so, the only thing I can see in store is becoming an alcoholic to get through. No joy in this shit I’m afraid.
@DezB I feel you - I am absolutely dreading this winter, I don't think I am being melodramatic or overly negative in saying it's going to be long and bleak, and frankly, difficult to survive.
Got a Kendal film pass
That reminds me, I was booked to photograph Kendal Mountain Festival again this year, it was a really enjoyable gig last year and they really liked my stuff. Not much call for photographing an online event though. 🙁

You can meet one person not in your household outdoors during lockdown. Why not see if there's someone off here in your area who you could go for a regular ride with?
I must admit, this month always feels like the start of the tunnel for me, worse than even the months after Christmas - and this year especially so, obviously. So you're not alone.
not a massive change here but i have blocked booked 2 hour lunches so I can at least try and get out and see some day light. ill just work a little later to make up for it...honest!
Ah the longer lunch idea is a very good one!

Will be at work mon-fri (hopefully not mon-sat like the last lockdown) for the NHS, it's busy now playing catch up for all the missed routine procedures so not optimistic it's going to go well in this wave & I'm not front line. How long my actual coal face colleagues are going last before something gives I don't know, they are already spread so thin & exhausted.
Work, work, chilling, walking, cooking, drinking so just normal for me but I had more time with the kids as they were at home more.
I'm planning on the long lunch for an hour's exercise in daylight, if I can get the stupid 1pm daily Teams chat moved.
This lockdown I can take my lad out for driving lessons. Is it nonessential travel if we don't stop anywhere? He's got a test booked in January
I plan to dust off my trail running shoes, keep doing my weekly night rides (on my own rather than with the group) and working from home as I have been doing since March.
I plan on brewing a hoppy, clean lager and then watching it ferment for a while. Then bottling it, then drinking it.
And, given that the wheel I ‘fixed’ with mole grips and a hammer is no longer holding a pressure, it looks like I am going to be putting a new rim on, which should take a few weeks.
Can they force you to take said 15 days when they say so?
Aye.
You're legally entitled to leave from work. You're not legally entitled to choose when it's taken, that's simply a courtesy offered by most reasonable employers.
The poster boy here is schools, a teacher's leave is the half term / end of term breaks. Good luck getting even a day off outside of that.
Activities, well I'm really trying to hit 5k miles before the end of the year so will be carrying on with my riding like usual. Now I've completed zwift academy I can go back outdoors more. I'm at the start of a hardtail build so would really like to get that finished so I can use it as much as possible to do some real XC rides from the flat.
Mon-fri (wed rest day) I take a break during the working day to do 4,3 and 2 minute planks, 20 stair reps, 50 sit ups, 15 girly press ups, some reps with weights.
I keep thinking about going out for a run from the flat because Ziva isn't up to walking much any more but it's generally on bike 'rest days' and they really should be proper rest days and I don't want to burn out.
Do my wasgij puzzle sessions count as an activity?
I'll be going to work.
I'm doing an advanced Javascript course to brush up my skills, and also to beat the boredom in my current role. Other than that it'll be running + swimming + biking if we're allowed to, and if we go to full lockdown it'll be just the turbo.
Watch 'hooks' on youtube.
Nearly 2 hours long, self shot, smashing fella in his sixties I'd say, walks from his home on the south downs around every bothy in the UK and puts a hook up on every one.
Lovely.
Besides the anticipated record breaking parcel numbers, delivering essential tat, while only those stupid enough to volunteer to van share at royal mail during lockdown V2 with no anticipated extra vans or trolleys making the workload a logistical nightmare... It will be the same as any other build up to Xmas.
Black Friday and Xmas is once again going to surprise the managers, but this time on a collosal scale, don't leave it late to order your online tat.
I’m gonna lockdown 2

And then we'll take it higher?
Winter bike is just about all updated, just fitted some Tiagra disc brakes using AS Solutions IS to flat-mount adapters. Stand by for more pictures of Suffolk churches (I missed some of the more local to me ones, I'll be filling in the gaps) from the daily rides.
On Friday 13 I'm into hospital for a TURP to sort the dodgy waterworks out. Then it's 2 to 3 weeks of recovery minimum or up to 6 if it goes badly. At least I won't need to claim SSP!
Mrs Sandwich wants me baking cinnamon buns and flapjacks while I'm home too.
Well, probably not something most of the posters on here need to concern themselves about, but no hooking up for some sexy times with a Tinder date!
Apparently, the government have now decided only "established relationships" are permitted 😳

Honestly don't think much will change my end, been working from home since like March and like everyone else not taken any holiday. But just feel lucky to have a job these days. Exercise seems a little up in the air unsure if you're "allowed" to travel for exercise ie drive to surrey for a bike ride, if its proper lockdown it will be weekend gravel rides from my house.
Jumping, not up and down, well, still up and down but on a bicycle.
Need to get my mojo back.
