[#3989688]

I use dropbox for all my important stuff to keep things backed-up and synced between my laptop and desktop. I'm looking for something similar that will sync two folders, one on my laptop, one on the desktop (and possibly a third on a usb drive) but without the cloud bit for photos and other big files. Does that make sense? Basically when both machines are connected to the lan they will sync with each other. Is that possible/easy/free?

Dropbox syncs across a LAN if it's there.

I used to use SyncToy, but had some reliability issues with it. Eventually gave up and now use PureSync (also free).

Sure it was just an issue with my aging PC, have a new one now and probably wouldn't have any problems.

Goodsync. Been using it for years and it's pretty perfect IMO. Cross platform to.
