I generally choose my T-shirt’s based on the fact that they reflect my interests or say something I want to say.

i.e. "I'm with stupid".

I love stickers on cars. There's some great ones on ebay. I just do not put any bike stickers on mine. I saw a big japanese boy racer car at a show with - Police chase me on it.

What is so different from having, say a BC sticker or a Fox sticker, to wearing a T-shirt? I generally choose my T-shirt’s based on the fact that they reflect my interests or say something I want to say.

Nothing really - I only wear plain t shirts by and large

For example somebody with one of those stick man family stickers on their back window is probably a bit of a sheep, has an iphone, a Samsung/LG/Whatever, wears superdry clothes and constantly bores their friends with pictures of their kids and what they had for dinner on facebook.

As far as my casual observation of the average Superdry wearer is concerned, anyway.
I used to have a few stickers on various cars over the years, a small Oakley one on my Puma, and my Octavia used to have a Greatful Dead sticker in the back window, along with Singletrackworld.com custom cut in the correct font.
Go ahead and sneer all you want, they all peeled off ages ago.

This GD design, which I think is just a cool design:

“A deadhead sticker on an Octavia” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it!

Never, under any circumstances accept something unnecessary or ugly.*

And people with pictures of dogs on the spare wheel cover can **** right off too. 🙂

Amnesty for the "Vote Commissioner Gordon" on the back of my old Citroen Dyane, and CND signs.

* Does not apply to family or friends.

Welcome to Vito ownership. I converted a 12 plate 113CDI to a camper last year. Did over 8,000mls and not so much as a blown fuse. Love it.

I have access to everything main dealer Merc so if you want any info then pm me.

In my eyes Merc’s aren’t like VW. They work better on the less is more front. I have Brabus alloys (black), roof rails and chrome bars on mine but may ditch the bars as they don’t follow the colour theme. My only temporary deviation from this is when we did a climbing trip to Austria. I had it emblazoned with the climbing kids names ‘On Tour’ and a nice MAGNET & STEEL banner across the top of the windscreen.

bike stickers say – I have bikes in the back – steal me

This is why I haven't put my "British Cycling" window sticker in the car... I'd like to, but...

Not stickers but kind of related. If I ever come in to a lot of money (won’t happen) I’m going to buy a very expensive niche car and join the owners club. Before attending said club I’ll do three things:

1: Smash one window and replace with a bin bag applied with sticky tape.

2: Replace a panel with one of a different colour or unpainted.

3: Apply one of those Dave & Sharron decals to the front windshield.

No idea why, I’ve just always wanted to do this.

From my personal pov it’s the question of why do you have to advertise your hobby. Is it to make them seem interesting?

Same reason people wear music band or bike t-shirts and stuff innit, like a bit of a club, you can share a nod with someone else who shares your hobby, even moreso if it's an esoteric sticker, like a retro Yeti one or something like that. There's a certain camaraderie that comes from a "I know you're into bikes" smile. Or something. I'm not a fan and don't really get it at all.

our van doesn’t have anything that advertises what’s inside it.

do you think petty thieves assume it is a vacuum and don't bother? I may be wrong but I'd assume that a lot of thefts from vans are fairly random/untargetted nick whatever is inside (tools, bikes, surfboards, laptop, cases of beer) it doesn't really matter unless you are stealing to order - so long as you have a route to flog dodgy gear.

in fact by clearly saying "this is a leisure" van you are effectively also saying "unlikely to be expensive power tools or work equipment inside", and only a possibility that there are actually bikes in it.

I like my Fell Runners Association sticker, they're fairly subtle, you see very few of them (apart from at races), and show that I'm a member of a small group of like minded individuals.

I am tempted by the powered by fairy dust sticker for my diesel.

You so had it until the last sentence. 😉

I used to drive a Mini, and there was almost nowhere I could go without another Mini driver flashing his lights or peeping his horn or even just nodding a greeting.

Just the act of driving that particular car was like a signal to others who liked them, and entailed a certain comraderie. Naught wring with that!

It saddens me a little that it’s become so ‘uncool’ to personalise your car in any way other than mega money factory options. People even sneer at non standard alloys these days, they used to be all the rage. It feels like when it comes to cars, it’s all about how much money you’ve spent on it, not how much imagination or personality you’ve put into it. It’s all conform conform conform these days.

@TheLittlestHobo

I saw the coolest Vito in Leogang car park the other week.
A V250 Avantegarde BusinessVan 4matic.
So basically a V class but in a Vito crew cab xlwb configuration.
Looks like a factory option in Germany/Austria. We can’t even get an XLWB in sport trim as standard never mind a 4matic.
Have a word with MBUK!

Haha, yes the uk seems to be very slow in giving the customer what they want.

There is currently a huge rejig of standard specs going on for 2019 but that’s just to eek out more sales before the updated Vito is launched. The Sport and in the old days Sport X were just MBUK addictions which left the factory as standard vehicles. Tbh I’ve built up loads of XLWB models with sport spec. It’s only the side bars which are an issue.

The biggest loss in the uk is the sport x. Even now those motors command serious money and I have customers who have run them for 5yrs + and it’s cost them peanuts.

Questions to ask MBUK

Why no 4x4 model in LHD - The re-engineering isn’t worth it for such a small market. Surprising but if they took 100% of the VW 4 motion T6 market it still wouldn’t be worth it.

Why is V class nicer - Traveliner and V class used to be similar that the V class struggled. By having a distinct difference now, dashboard alone is a work of art on v class it has helped their sales. Bumpers, split tailgate etc are further differences

We cried out for the 7tronic for yrs to go with the v6. That configuration would have wiped the floor with every other van on the market. Unfortunately it only appeared when the v6 was dropped and now mated to 4cylinder engines.

If their recent launches are anything to go by, don’t expect it to get better 🙁
