That's a good point, any particular liver that is good/bad

Bearded seal, Walrus and Moose. All very bad for you.

and Gazza. I'd not risk it.

Love lambs liver, calf's liver and chicken liver is very versatile. The local Nepalese restaurant does a lovely chicken liver starter, spicy and with onion.

Done right it's a tasty dish, done wrong it's terrible.

I never eat anything that is directly named after an organ or body part. The fact that the marketers can't even be bothered to give it a fancy name fills me with suspicion.

No loin of pork for you then? Or rib of beef?

My first ever meal in an Indian restaurant (1971) was chicken liver curry. Never seen it on a menu since. Love lamb and pig liver.

Me & the Mrs love liver & onions with mushrooms in a thick rich gravy with mash & peas, nomnomnomnomnomnom nommmm!

Foie gras, however-

Oh yes!, we brought some back from Aquitane cos we'd heard it was the bees knees. I think we paid about 8 Euros for a small can.

I tasted it on opening just to see what it was like & promptly chucked it in the bin, even the dog didn't seem interested. Shite.

Lambs liver anyday.

Nope. It's in the same pile as Kidney to me. These are organs designed to clean nasty things from your blood...why would I want eat what is essentially a biological filter?

Because (IMO) it tastes yummy & after 61 years of eating all kinds of 'crap', I'm still around. I DO NOT eat Mc****inDonalds though, I do have standards.

Liver yum.
Preferably with bacon, mash, crispy onions and gravy. Peas if you must.
Chicken livers as a tapas dish.

Kidney yum
Devilled kidneys
Steak and kidney pie

Tongue you can keep though

A liver and onion dinner from Dave's Dingle Diner on the Aigburth road is ambrosia.
