Like - Swans. Because Gira articulates the black soul of society.
Dislike - why waste time on the negative?

Now, that doesn't make sense now does it?

I just asked for one of each - doesn't mean you have to pick your favourite.

It could be the first one that springs to mind, one that's currently in your CD player, or even one you haven't listened to for ages - maybe inspiring you to dig it out.

I'm sure you can use your imagination for a dislike.

Like: Sonic Youth (So much variety in their music that if I only had to listen to one band for ever they'd have most bases covered)

Dislike: Cast (At Glastonbury '97 someone threw eggs at them and it made my lifetime. Forget my wedding day, forget my daughter's birth and achievements; I can die happy knowing that I saw someone egging Cast.)

Mark E Smith is blooming great Al! Good choice.

But Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favourite albums, with one of my favourite lines from any song

"Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way"

Another weird music thread. From STR's original post I thought he was looking for new stuff to listen to: I may try them both out.
And yet folk post Beatles, Clash, Oasis and other old, pointless stuff that he will have heard and no doubt made his mind up on long ago. Hmm.

Anyway

The Beatles - "Old and pointless" ๐Ÿ˜†

Suuns - Truly groundbreaking, genre defining and influential to millions.

My pleasure ๐Ÿ˜‰

Never heard of Suuns though, are they 'boombastic music' as my dad calls it?

I'll have to check them out.

Nope, they are an indie band from the US. Not the best thing I've ever heard, but new and reasonably sexy.

Cheers!

Oh, and I was taking the mick on the Blur/Oasis thing, I think they're both rubbish.

๐Ÿ˜‰

Love the Beatles though.
