Where is this one going? Dot, Denton and Harry all tied up, Tommy's shadow over everything and the body count rivalling Fargo. And did Arnott do the deed or not? I've forgotten.

Dunno but I forgot it was on. Me and the wife just watched the first two episodes back to back.

Gripping but rather of at a tangent. Without wanting to spoil plots, I reckon the man who stole the list is on the picture somwhere or at the very least will be connected to it.

The caddy is Defo involved somehow. It'll be interesting to see how the threads intertwine. Good telly.

It's amazing. It's so nice to see something with subtleties and "did he have a funny look as he..." or "did they just..." as opposed to most modern television that needs a 5 second slow-mo to draw the viewer's attention to the blindingly obvious.

I don't remember being so keen for a new episode of a programme to air since the early days of 24.

Is it worth going back to watch the first two serieseseses? Waiting for a very slow download of S01E05 to complete as we've only just got into it.

Watched series 2 again last week, no he did not do the deed. He just got very close to her (in an undercover way) ๐Ÿ˜‰

I watched S3E2 last night, having watched S2 last week - why was everyone saying Denton was undercover with Denton when he was clearly interviewing her in AC-12 investigation? #confused ๐Ÿ˜†

He wasnt exactly under cover, I think he was pretending to be her friend and gain her trust IIRC ?

why was everyone saying Denton was undercover with Denton when he was clearly interviewing her in AC-12 investigation?

Now I am confused ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thurs 9pm,but if you've not seen series 1 and 2 I've got a feeling you'll be missing a lot in the next episode. Actually I'm thinking I've forgotten too much and will also miss a few nuances.

No I saw both the other serieseseses. I'm in Oz though so love a bit of TV from home, especially when it's as enthralling as this. Good old err... iPlayer.

For those who just can't remember, there is an Everything You Need To Know About Line Of Duty on iPlayer. 12 minutes well spent.

If you haven't seen series 1 and 2, watch them first.

I was half expecting that but no idea what she'll do next. I hope hari chooses the right team though.

I saw Adrian Dunbar at the airport a couple of weeks ago, before S3 started.

Was a bit star struck - since watching LoD he has been a complete hero of mine.

Wanted to go and ask him all about the new series, but wussed out.

Therefore can't shed any light, but my own guess is that Denton has a family member who suffered at the hands of Tommy H (he's on the list) and that was her motive for dobbing him in?

Any chance Dot is in the photo somewhere too?

Awesome series, as is anything by Jed Mercurio: Cardiac Arrest; Bodies; Critical and his novel about the Cosmonauts. A legend.

Does anyone know if Law and Order UK is back on any time soon? Used to really enjoy that too.

90 mins next week. My theory is that Fleming is doing an under cover job on dot, set up after hari's interview, but equally it could end up with arnott getting framed for everything, or Hastings getting the boot and dot taking the top job.

Oh and how come the window was still intact?

Here we go.

With virtually everyone implicated in some way at some particular point, it's gonna have to be one helluva conclusion.

Well that was the ending I hoped they would avoid. Totally preposterous IMO. Marred an otherwise excellent production.

The first hour or so was insanely good tv. It went a bit daft when the shots were fired which detracted from the brilliance of the earlier scenes.

Ted Hastings is brilliant.

I wanted to smash the TV just to wipe the smugness from Dot throughout the Arnott interview.

IMHO, Fleming shooting a fleeing vehicle is murder.

The Range Rover took so long driving around I thought they were looking for a chippy.

On the whole a completely captivating series with some writing brilliance. However one minute your trying to work out the plot, the storyline is fantastic, and then they put some stupid, that would never happen/that's a bit silly moments in.

I thought the ending was going to go a bit Die Hard at one point, and that was one heck of a shot with the Range Rover.

Still overall one of the best dramas in a long time

Mrs FD and I both were amazed by the cameo appearance of Jimmy Saville, and didn't yesterday's final episode have spooky resemblances to what is potentially happening in South Yorkshire Police....

That's exactly what the OH said as we were watching it ๐Ÿ˜€

Absolutely brilliant writing & acting during the interview scenes though, especially Dot's where they just kept picking at threads and you're waiting for it to all unravel, superb TV!!

One thing puzzles me about the Range Rover shot, The car was travelling from right to left, Kate takes the shot, but when we see Dot he has a bullet wound on the right side of his head. Surely it should be on the left side?

Great series though.

She didn't hit Dot, that was a crash wound. She hit the driver that caused the crash. Was my reading at least.

Can't believe Hastings keeps calling people son without being hauled up in front of a tribunal in this day and age. I bet he refers to his female members of staff as girls.

And +1 on the Jimmy Savile photo, and the echoes of Jersey, cover ups, protecting their own and investigating just enough (the scene with Bigelow was quite chilling given recent events) - and dare I even mention masonic handshakes.

Is Jed Mercurio JHJ? I think we should be told........

Somehow they swapped range rovers too. Different alloys and cream interior versus dark. Luckily it was still them.

Given the focus on rules and procedures around police and firearms for the first half of the series, I'm surprised that Fleming was allowed to go all Rambo and start firing at probably the right Range Rover from sniper distance.

Also a little bit unbelievable that the criminals would effectively sacrifice another embedded copper just to get Cottan out.

Still an absolutely belting series.

Had been brilliant up until the first shots were fired but turned into a silly far-fetched scenario stretching credibility.

I love the series, but that shot was even more incredible when you notice the "trained firearms officer" with a gun on her right shoulder aiming with her left eye :O)
They maybe should have had some non-procedural ex-police helping out.

If we are getting all picky, DI Cotton one minute had steri strips, the next he didn't, then they were back again.

The fat councillor, 'Dale Roach' that the boys at the 'care' home had to call Mr Smith...

Dale Roach = Rochdale. Mr Smith. Hmmm...

Well...
Just watched all 3 series in a week ๐Ÿ˜•
Awesome TV up until about 20 mins of Rambo... didn't need it, riding the truck was a bit Merican really.

But even more inexcusable was the blue suit, you had armed police all over and nobody shot the man wearing the shit blue suit!!!

Whilst the whole tagging a lift on the lorry and 'wonder shot' bit took it a bit far I thought the text to the armed officer outside the interview room and exit was a nice twist I didn't see coming. Not sure why they couldn't leave it at that with him escaping and going into hiding to potentially reappear in future series.

I was watching about 5 minutes behind real time when the Humax box decided to do a reboot!!! It hasn't done that for months and months. It stopped the recording as well so couldn't use that either. If I'd been armed that box and the tv and most of the rest of the house would have gone the way of the glass wall in the police station. Had to wait for this morning to get it on Iplayer. I agree about the end, I think a better end would have been the armed officer outside responding to the text by shooting Cotton. It's all far fetched of course but once he was no longer useful they'd have got rid of him.
