Mrs muz looking at christmas pressies for me. I quite liked the idea of a good quality multitool like a leatherman for both camping (wild) and out on the trails. Main things are pliers and cutting ability (i have a decent bushcraft knife but dont take it biking ..)

The leatherman wave black looks great but any other suggestions?

You'll not go far wrong with a Wave, although the black oxide coating has(or certainly had) a reputation for coming off and coating your hands / clothes.

I've got a Crunch which I've had for about 15 years, and it's brilliant; I think they've recently reintroduced it, so I'd certainly recommend you have a look into that.

If you need to cut and clamp then the leatherman freestyle.

One of the mini ones (squirt?) and a swiss army knife as they're actually pleasant to use as a knife/saw/boyscoutfromhoofremover

My Victorinox multitool is nearly 20 years old, 18 as a constant companion on site, and as solid as the day it was made.

Cheaper than £100 but ive had a leatherman rebar for the past few years and think it's far better than the charge Al that I had before

A quality, handmade folder from a good knifemaker could involve many hours of work, £2-300 is not unreasonable, in the same way that you wouldn't expect to pay £30 for a handmade bike frame.
And a really good multitool would generally go for £80-90.

I spotted this Leatherman as part of a collection of useful EDC tools, it's got some interesting features, and just fits the budget:

Gerber > Leatherman imo.

EDIT just saw they have a Bear Grylls tie-in. Scratch that. As you were.
