My wife would like a new laptop bag. She hauls her work laptop around and has a dreary black laptop bag. For her birthday she'd like another one, and I know she'd like one that's more girly. I don't want to stereotype, but from past gifts (I got her a wireless mouse with pink patterns on it that went down well) she wants something colourful and "pretty". Any advice for a good pack that is pretty? I'm a bit lost... Osprey have a pink pack that looks good but apart from that I'm not sure - I tend to only choose on technical criteria...

Have a look a Roka London.
Colourful, sturdy, washable, I’ve had a small one for a while and it’s a fabulous bag!

If she hauls it around a lot, key considerations...
- comfort. Get something with a proper back and harness set up. Like an Osprey.
- security. If it looks like a laptop bag, everyone knows there's a laptop in it. Makes it a target. Fly under the radar.
- durability. Obvious, really.

In short, get her an Osprey Aphelia.

Patagonia Arbour or Ironwood in a different colour from blank?
Bomber too - my Patagonia half mass is 15 years old, in daily use, Mrs_oab a rucksack of 10 years old in daily use.

Osprey make good bags but they seem more functional than pretty.

Something from Timbuk2?

Amazingly well built, very tough, billions of pockets in them, and some of them you can customise the colours so can be as pink as you like (or don't like)!
