Considering a workshop quite close to our boundary. I think the line of our fence doesn't match the actual boundary. Probably we are at a disadvantage, but I'm happy with where the fence is so don't want any dispute. Problem is there is a weird right angle kink in the boundary line of the map that the fence doesn't follow.

The title sheet has the house as a 1cm square in the middle of an A4 page - useless.

The Land Register website is much better, but there appear to be some pretty large inaccuracies in the base map. Seems totally inadequate.

Is there another level of detail map that planners can access?

Did you buy the land / property, or did you inherit it?
All the Registers of Scotland have to go on is the information supplied to them by your solicitor when the purchase is registered.
All your solicitor can do is register the land / property, with the information, that you have agreed to buy.
Did you provide your solicitor with a detailed map of the land / property when you agreed to the purchase?
