Hi

plan would be to do canal/railway to Glasson as a bimble about, and round town.

After a cheapish hotel with parking (that's ok for bikes in car)and near facilities and any food recommendations.

Thanks

Gus - it might be worth asking at the Uni, they used to let out rooms in the holidays when my son went there.

Penny Street Bridge Hotel (formerly The Farmers Arms) is spoken of highly by friends who have stayed there, and is right on the canal.

B+B at The Sun Hotel is good, don't know about parking though. This place is fairly nice but I've only been in for a drink - http://www.pennystreetbridge-hotel.co.uk/ - right next to the canal

edit: beaten to it!

Mung Mee by the bus station does nice Thai food - Golden Dragon by the police station for nice Chinese. This place is very good - http://www.bistro26.co.uk/

There is a decent pub in Glasson too - the Dalton Arms. The Stork at Conder Green just a little way towards town is nice too. If you go to Glasson visit the smokehouse shop - superb stuff from there.

Was going to reccomend contacting you, too, grum! Should we rope in SFB? 🙂

Good call, cg! University tends to be fairly well booked by families wanting 'cheapish' accommodation with access to The Lakes.

Sorry, gus, I forgot to say if you want some guidance/company, give us a shout!
