Anyone else noticed the large amount of ladybirds today, was on the wifes chain gang today ,tidying up the garden and noticed ladybirds almost everywhere you looked and they all paired up rutting.
Can remember the hot summer of 76 (just),and ladybirds everywhere ,could this be a sign of a long very hot summer?

Funnily enough i noticed lots of them in my garden too.
I was wondering why there are so many!

Cannot remember the summer of 76 i'm afraid, as it's the year I was born.
So that must be a good sign ๐Ÿ˜†

they seem to live in my sash box in the bathroom window and have been emerging for the past 3-4 weeks !
one morning i picked around 10 off that were in a group by one of the sash cords,

god knows what i was breaking up, some kind of keys in the coffee table bowl party ???

this is our second year of infestation, but don't have the heart to destroy them.

i have a ladybird hotel ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Are they the illegal asylum seeker ladybirds or the proper British ones?
My windows frames are infested with the imigrant harlequin jobs which come out as soon as it warms a bit.

Perhaps they haven't all been killed off due to the mild winter?

Yep noticed loads in my garden yesterday too
And while I was out there the blossom on the cherry tree came out fully and there was instantly a load of bees swarming all over it, like they had been waiting patiently round the corner ready to swoop

Lots of Ladybirds in the garden this weekend, and Ive identifed them as such and not harlequins too, which is a bonus
