Recently borrowed a Kindle (WiFi Keyboard version) off someone to see how I got on with it. I think it's great, especially with all the free stuff available to download at Project Gutenburg, so I was thinking of getting one myself.

Anyone got the Touch version? What is the touch screen like? is it worth paying the extra for this version over the one with the 5-way controller?

Also, are they phasing out the keyboard version? They only seem to have the 3G version available on Amazon.

Thanks

I've just bought a regular version after having a bit of a read around the Web and a few of the online reviews seem to say that the touchscreen capability isn't really worth having. It's not particularly responsive, adds to size, weight and cost, reduces battery life and doesn't add much functionality.

Don't know if they're canceling anything but kindles seem to be one of those things which get better the more basic they become.
