[Closed] Kids' teeth braces - is 4 brackets off in 10 days normal?

Son (12) had wire track braces fitted a couple of weeks ago to correct his very misaligned teeth (he had 4 removed).
We're getting the work done on the NHS via a private practice.

Since the brackets and wire were fitted, he's had 4 of them fall off at different times, requiring further visits and time off school to repair. He's being very careful with what he eats and isn't doing any rugby or chewing pens etc.

We're being told by the practice that this is normal, but it just seems odd that 4 have come off. I've complained to the practice manager and she's moved me to another orthodontist (the original one has only been practising for 12 months). Could it be because they weren't fitted properly in the first place?

I'm interested to hear what other parents' experiences are or from any dentists

In our experience yes...

Absolute garbage - I don’t know if it is the product or the fitter, but ours resulted in on average monthly visits for repairs prior to COVID. At that point the remainder slowly disassembled itself.

In my experience no.
I had full train tracks on the top row as a teenager (20ish years ago) and never had a single one fall off. I don't know if the glue that they use has changed in over the years but mine weren't going anywhere and I wasn't careful with how I treated them.

N=1 here - but son has had them for about 3-4 years. He fairly frequently had issues with the wires but the bits glued to the teeth never come off.
