Do we need the head? Will it be more likely to take the pointing out from between the slabs than using the lance?
I don't want to be able to get the middle of the slabs pristine and end up with dirty borders near the pointing. I'd rather it be evenly less clean.
Less likely I'd say. The patio cleaning head is very very effective and fast though.
It's less powerful than the lance, pressure shared between two heads and you can't accidentally concentrate the blast on one bit, it's always moving.
Go slow and steady in stripes for fastest cleaning, sweep off any stones if doing concrete as the spinning head is quite vulnerable to damage.
The only bit it won't clean (if it's the same design as my Nilfisk) is a 5mm strip where the patio meets a wall.
I find pacing backwards is better as you drag the head rather than trying to push it forwards and into the floor.
Thanks have bought and shall set to as soon as I sober up!
Using the patio head is an awful lot cleaner for everything else near said patio, it's amazing how far the manky spray from the normal lance goes!
I got the head 'free' a couple of years ago with a Ksomethingorother.
Sat in the box unused as I thought it would be useless, decided to give it a go and it cleaned the patio just as well as the lance but in half the time without any missed bits. Plus it was handy on the retaining wall made of old sleepers at the old house. As spooky said, it does leave a 1/4" stripe up against anything that will need finishing off with a lance.
I tried it and it didn't shift any muck at all, just used the lance in the end. Binned the head thing.
We got a K4 a couple of months back and used the patio cleaner head. It was easily quicker than using the lance alone. Previously it would take all day to do all our stonework (back patio, driveway, walls) with the patio head we managed to get it cleaned in about 3 hours. Make sure you sweep up first so you don't ping stones everywhere. It's way cleaner than using the lance as well. The cleaner fluid that you get with it will dissappear quite quickly mind you when you have it on low pressure, no idea how effective it is at keeping algae at bay yet.
Patio cleaned quickly and with no mess.
The patio head is the bestest thing ever.
I found the patio cleaner on my Nilfisk to be pretty useless. I just use the lance, might be because the patio had never been cleaned until I did it...
The karcher one is pretty amazing isn't it!
There seem to be a bunch of different karcher patio cleaning heads - which one do people recommend for use with (as yet unpurchased) k4?
i got one, just decided it would be rubbish, till i used it , its great isn't it !!!!
