@V8ninety that's great information, far more detail than I get for Terra Ex Astro Corp. I guess they have been lucky in picking up lots of new cmdrs and need to spell it out. The key points for me are :
Do NOT hand in bounties for any faction other than The Dark Wheel in our systems.
Do NOT hand in trade goods or cartography data to stations that we do not own.
I definitely did the first at points over the weekend.
In Akuntsu we can trade into tennyson and drop carto there. No profitable trade into the commodity market at Wylie Dock. Source and return missions are OK.
Matt
So there was no opposing faction after all? Just our own bungling incompetence?

So there was no opposing faction after all? Just our own bungling incompetence?
I think we have to consider that as a possibility. The system being in a boom state may well have exaggerated the effect in favour of IPP, too.
This would be a recent problem for me. Previously I used to blow up every day or so, taking any bounties with me. Damn me, getting average!
Matt
Yeah, cashing in bounties and making a quick million in excess trit seemingly wasn't a good plan.
On the upside, the trit trade route is easy to both the NKL installations so it's not all bad. Plus that biowaste. Outbreak and war, bring it!
@squirrelking when you have a carrier, there is no such thing as spare trit. It's trit which is allocated for travel or trit which is waiting to be allocated for travel!
Fortunately it's easy to come by. I mined 400t out here in HIP 36601 in a couple of hours. Should get us home!
Matt
That looks to have solved the Akuntsu problem. The latest numbers are:
IPP 40.6 (-5)
NKL 33 (+6.4)
LCE 18.5 (-0.3)
All of the toys have been put back in the pram. Onwards and upwards!
Matt
It must be me.
I'm out of the system for a week and the numbers plummet.
Come back last night and do one single inf++++ delivery mission and they shoot up 6 points.
You're welcome 🙂
Can't rule it out. Also correlates with me being in HIP 36601, sorry lads, long walk home!
Could be war in a few days!
Matt
So now we're engaging in covert biological warfare? Dear god. You people have absolutely no scruples, I'm so disillusioned.
I don't need to do the experiment, Terra Ex have provided me with the answer.
Bounties from a system we control (only Kuwembaa in our case) will build influence for us in systems where we have a presence, such as Akuntsu.
It seems to be a powerful tool for building INF.
Matt
I think he's referring to my crap hauling tactic. In fairness I've not actually been on to do any of that.
I need to get my rep up for powerplay, I've missed this week's deadline so next week is murder week. @donk did you manage any?
Any reason we are clubbing together for a random faction rather than doing powerplay as a team?
They aren’t random, they’re New Kuwembaa Labour! NKL! NKL! NKL!!
(Also it was Matts little experiment with the background situation that we’ve all been sucked into. I do wonder that if we enjoy it and there’s enough of us (Player Controlled Minor Factions need at least ten players) we could either apply for our own new minor faction or possibly get NKL registered as ours. No idea if that’s possible, but it’s a minor difference only anyway).
Would be fun. Could we then link it to powerplay or is it unrelated?
(I think) Power play is not related to minor faction simulation. You can ally your Faction with one of the superpowers (or remain independent) but the ‘exploited system’ mechanic remains variable. Of course, as a group we could decide which Power Personality We want to align with (they all give different benefits to how stations run) and manipulate it as such. Wouldn’t be very difficult, I don’t think.
Yeah I'd be up for a minor faction if this goes well. Probably loads of dormant ones as well that we could just adopt.
Li whosisface would be a good power to align to but we need a system with alliance craft. He offers 15% off ships and modules but has no decent stations to offer them from!
I'll just say I'm happy to chip into whatever goal we aim for as a group.
My next personal game goal is going to be out to a Guardian site. I have taken on Ram Tah's mission and I want to get Aliyana a Guardian fighter as a present when she ranks up to Dangerous.
I haven't decided whether to use the carrier or the Phantom (I haven't really used it since I added the FSD Booster), but could easily be swayed if a number of people fancy tagging along.
If we think our BGS has troubles, Terra Ex Astro Corp are fighting a player faction in Leesti. Yesterday they dropped hundreds of INF+ in missions, tens of millions of Carto and Bounties and i bet the % barely twitches.
Matt
I haven’t decided whether to use the carrier or the Phantom
Best option for a Guardian site is a DBX.
It's small enough that you can land in the site and if you fit Point Defence to the utility slots on the top of the ship and leave a few pips to WEP then, when you're jumping about in your SRV and encounter Guardian Sentinels then the Point Defence will shoot down all the missiles they fire at you.
And I actually have a shiny red DBX that would be up for the job! Thanks
Matt
I’ve missed this week’s deadline so next week is murder week. @donk did you manage any?
Didnt do any murder civilian missions, did a load of trade and pirate massacre missions in akuntsu tho. Are we looking at wetwork missions or we all back on track now and stick to normal stuff?
What's our next BGS objective?
My next personal game goal is going to be out to a Guardian site. I have taken on Ram Tah’s mission
Isn't that one a pretty big undertaking? a hundred codes, need different combination of stuff in your srv hold, sounds confusing.
Best option for a Guardian site is a DBX...//... fit Point Defence to the utility slots on the top of the ship
I was just after guardian tech mats/data, I used an aspX similar setup, didnt have too much trouble landing but if I go again the smaller DBX is probably a slightly better option. Dont forget a basic laser if you're gonna do the space based guardian thing (I cant even remember the details for that, shoot a couple of points and it gives guardian data or something??)
@D0NK in that case I'm hoping I get some more information when I get there. I have no details whatsoever at the minute.
matt
Hmm wonder how much info the mission gives, as with anything in elite there's 3rd party tools, guides, route planners etc, apparently there's 11 artefacts so 55 combinations (i think) to have in your srv hold when you scan an object and you need to return to ship to change the combination. I really hope Ram offers you some guidance and it's not just trial and error.
I'm still looking for mats, trying to do as much as I can in my own. Guardian stuff is on my list as I want the FSD booster of course.

I was meaning the Powerplay stuff for cytoscramblers. Will get on that next week I think.
@molgrips if you have any dates that would suit you, I would happily take the carrier. You can turn that jump-a-conda into a leap-a-conda.
The best module site also has two planets with brain trees which are great for raws (and codex entries).
Matt
I was meaning the Powerplay stuff for cytoscramblers.
ah gotya, didnt think I was at week 3 yet, thanks for the reminder, will check next time I log in
Cheers @matt_bl, any dates work for me really. All I'm doing now is hunting for stuff for G5 thrusters so I can kill stuff better. After that, not sure - probably better lasers. I might need efficient power plants too.
I am not really doing anything other than upgrading ships in a relaxed exploratory sort of way. When they're maxed out I might just go on a massive killing spree to try and level up both in the game and on the other side of the controller.
Speaking of killing - we haven't had a CQC party yet have we?
whoops, it's been 4 weeks since I pledged to archon. Spent my lunch hour blasting Lavigny Duval's shields of justice out of the sky in an anarchy system. Then realised you have to be in a controlled system not exploited. Off to San Tu later then to try to rack up enough points for the powerplay tick tomorrow morning.
try to rack up enough points for the powerplay tick tomorrow morning.
I did 750 merits in two delivery trips in the Cutter. Cost me about 7 million to shortcut the cargo allocation waiting time mind you.
Good reminder, I might be 4 weeks for the blue haired lass. Could be a busy night, I need to sell some LTDs to pay for my shields, I'm aiming for two of each size.
Matt

it's not so much the cost that bothers me, its the amount of clicks it takes to do it. Even the pay through the nose shortcuts feature a grind.
I’m aiming for two of each size
Yeah, dont forget the little'uns! IMO the best thing about prismatics is your ability to drop a shield class and fit more cargo/whatever instead eg 1A prismatic low draw in a icourier = 275Mj at 1.25T, can still build it into a >850m/s speed machine that can also carry 32t
Yeah, all that clicking was a proper pain in the hoop.
"Would you like a side order of RSI with your Pack Hounds CMDR?"
Ok so that's the Anaconda and the Fer de Lance with G5 dirty thrusters. Holy shot the FdL is terrifying now. It spins so fast that if you boost you can do a 720 spin whilst still going in the same direction. 363m/s with two engine pips, 393 with all four pips and 517 boost!
Who do I need to kill now @matt_blh?
DBX is the go to for guardian sites, but I’ve only ever been in a Phantom with twin point defence turrets and never had an issue. You can’t get a fighter blueprint from a surface site though; it’s a space beacon thingy I think. It’s on my to do list too. Surface sites still useful for all the flipping guardian stuff you need though. And as mentions above, make sure you’ve at least a plinky laser to charge the space based guardian thingy. (Although I’ve heard you can repeatedly ram it out of frustration and it kinda works if you’re lucky).
In other news; I’m still stuck in HIP 36601 without a fuel scoop in my mining Python, because I missed the boat back whilst mining a bit o trit to help out with the ride. Currently docked on a random carrier, thinking no one is going to stay out there for very long, right? Right?? 😳😳😳😳
Hah.
Joined a random conflict zone in Arque and fought for the local faction cos the Professor has had enough trauma without having to be taken over by another faction. New thrusters were great for getting away to let my shields recharge, but not sure the bi weaves are enough. Need more engineering for sure they are only G3. No room for a cell bank either.
What are those pink blobs they keep firing at me that do thermal damage?
War will come soon enough! Either we will match influence with IPP in Akuntsu in a couple of days or we will surge past them and the war will start when we hit 60%.
Current scores are:
IPP 39.7
NKL 36.5
LCE 16.6
I have a beam on the Phantom and plenty lying around for the DBX.
My next ship is an armed trader, I'm getting tired of being forced to dodge the interdictions in my Python miner/trader.
Matt
What about the current war in Kuwembaa? Do we wade in on one side or t’other for our advantage?
Disclaimer: I just want to blow shit up
Entering Akuntsu system now and heading for the outpost to sell my exploration data. If you're in the area and see a scruffy looking DBX go past, steer well clear. I haven't docked in a looong time. This could be messy. 😣
Welcome back!
You made good time there, you were still miles out last time you updated.
20 mins ago. I hope he hasn't crashed, lost billions in data and rage-quit.
Entering Akuntsu system now and heading for the outpost to sell my exploration data.
Woop woop! Make sure you honk as you go through the slot. Welcome back to the bubble Cmdr.
In other news I’ve secured berthing for my trip back to the bubble via the wonder of multiple Discord server memberships. I’ll be back soon too.
@Perchypanther pick a side, someone has to win. I am fighting in Leesti (well a haz res in LP 547-149) to get my gun slinging kicks, until we start in Akuntsu.
Matt
