If it ousts the behind the scenes actions of the Newcastle board, then yes.
yes he 'punched' him in the chest, hardly touched him. as someone who has played to a fairly high standard stuff like that happens literally 20 times a game, means nothing
Barton does seem to have bucked his ideas up, and last season was arguably one of his best. I remember one game where he was kicked from pillar to post and admirably didn't rise to the bait (vs Wolves I think?), but you can't gloss over the facts he punched Pedersen.
Now we may disagree but I watch a lot of footy, used to play a bit too, and IMO this doesn't happen 20 times a game.
He won't be without a club for long, someone will always turn a blind eye and give him yet another 2nd chance if they feel he can do job, and when he actually plays football he ain't bad. Arsenal, Spurs, Celtic seem to be leading the betting at the moment. Just imagine him in an old firm game! 😯
But do you think it will and do you think he's justified in not only giving his opinion, but suggesting it is the same with team mates? And doing it via social media rather than speaking to his employers?
Then crying when he is punished too - the tone of his posts is stunningly infantile.
He is acting like a spoilt child IMO
Punched Pederson? 😆 I suppose he also broke into his house and stole his telly?
I think whoever he will play in future, he will always be trouble, a leopard will never change it spots.
Best English midfielder last season - prove me wrong on this one....
Jack Wilshere.
Next?
Wilshere? Just clumsy on the pitch.
You are kidding me right?
We're talking about a 19 year old who outplayed Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas earlier this year right?
Footballers are well paid mercenaries at the end of the day and club loyalty is a dying breed these days. And with so many foreign players in our Premiership they won't give a toss really what happens to the clubs as long as they're getting their £35,000-£150,000 a week! They want the fans believe they're behind their current club but I'd hazard a guess a high percentage are saying this so future employers will think "he's showing some faith" and they'll buy him thinking he'll be faithful when in reality the only thing they're faithful to is their paycheck!
Barton did play well last season but when all the players are fit, he would never get in the England team as he just isn't good enough - he thinks he is - but he isn't. You can defend him all you like, tell me he's a changed man blah blah blah but if so why did he park his £170,000 Aston Martin on the grass right outside the court he was appearing in stating he did because he couldn't find a place to park - yeah, that's the sign of a changed man - cock more like.
Wilshere - a handful of good games, arrogant little prick too, possibly even more than Barton. Maybe next season he will get the title but last season was Bartons.
hated the early Barton but he seems to have reinvented himself and removed most of his demons. Surely this is admirable if a little late.
Ok at football and a good season last year.
yeah, that's the sign of a changed man
yes a parking infringement is certainly comparable to an assault in legal terms and morally. I retract what i said.
I'm on a phone. Can anyone find the last thread about the Pederson incident? Forum search is not helping.

Arrogant prick? Based on what?

Hardly an angel himself. Hasnt there been a few of these stories about him.
We're talking about a 19 year old who outplayed Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas earlier this year right?
In your dreams mate. In your dreams...
But yeah, better than Barton. Sorry carbon337.
Joey does seem to have managed to calm himself down a bit, and TJ; I think you're well wrong on this one. He was an absolute (rude word), but the bloke's admitted he's got problems and is trying to make amends. I don't think he's quite the out of control thug he used to be, although he's still got issues. His record is a lot worse than almost anyone else in footy though, so he's got a huge mountain to climb to win back respect.
He'd be a good signing for Arsenal. A player who actually has some balls, unlike most of their squad who give up at the slightest challenge....

Ain't that the truth. All last season pundits kept parping on about Arsenil's "beautiful" football. Style is nothing if you've not got the balls to keep it going when you are under the cosh. Young squad? Young, immature children.
Elf - I am far more cynical that you
I bleieve he is saying he recognises the issues and is paying lip service to doing something about it. I don't think he has any serious intent at all - he is still the same arrogant bad tempered person he always has been.
Maybe I am wrong but to me it shows rank hypocrisy allowing this thug anyway near the professional game.
He should have been kicked out of the game years ago.
He would have fitted in well with the Dirty Leeds team of the seventies! 😉
FFS he should be banned from working because of crimes*- does this apply for all crims ,is this just for Barton or just for football? Is it the vulnerable adult thing of his employment?
You think he is pretending...thankfully he has also managed to not commit anymore crimes during his pretence...it is not like he has found religion for early parole.
Seriously what more would you want him to do to convince you?
*lets ban them from work and pay beneits for life - would be a tad unhelpful in rehabilitation
Every so often TeeJ surprises me. His last post did just that.

So even though I give you hard evidence to the contrary of this, from someone who personally knows him and speaks to him weekly you prefer to base your opinion on nothing of any substance at all. Maybe, for once in your life take something onboard from someone who knows better than you?
Nasty piece of work. +1 for suitability to classic filthy Leeds squad. Leopard. Spots.

Junkyard - I would have banned him after his jailtime for thuggery. I am astounded any manager will employ him quite honestly. He certainly should have been suspended from the game for a period of time if not an outright ban
Cantona got a 4 month suspension for a much lessor offence
Other people in other sports get suspended or banned for lessor offences.
I bleieve he is saying he recognises the issues and is paying lip service to doing something about it. I don't think he has any serious intent at all - he is still the same arrogant bad tempered person he always has been.
That's your onion and you're entitled to it, but you don't seem to display much empathy with a person who clearly suffers with anger issues. Personally, I don't think Joey is evil, but he has failed in the past to control his rage, which has caused a lot of damage. I don't think he really wants to be the person he has bin, as it's damaged his career considerably. It's something he'll constantly struggle with throughout his life, made especially difficult by the combative nature of the sport.
We none of us really know what the bloke goes through, or indeed anything about the treatment he has pursued to try to help him deal with his problems. He's a flawed human being, and like anyone, deserves a break now and then, if he can show sufficient repentance.
Or we can just condemn him as a thug and have done with it. Another troubled soul on the scrapheap.
Warton - thats my opinion from how he behaves. He continues to lose his temper easily and regularly and behave in a very arrogant manner.
Waht you say is hardly hard evidence.
a part of my point is that if he had been dealt with by the football authorities more strictly in the past he might have not got to the point he did and that they authorities are setting an example that thuggery is acceptable.
I think a ban of a year or two after the jailtime would have been right.
As I I have said twice - I could be wrong - maybe he is a reformed charectar but it does not appear so to me.
TJ. Cantona's offence happened on the pitch. Bartons didn't. Quite simple. The FA can't ban people for non football related incidents. Those pesky facts again.
He's quite clearly not hard enough to be considered alongside any of the Leeds players of the 70's. I mean, really, Pederson punch? I've flicked bogies harder
Warton - thats my opinion from how he behaves. He continues to lose his temper easily and regularly and behave in a very arrogant manner.
When was the last time he lost his temper? Once in about 24 months? Again, check facts before you talk about something you quite simply don't know anything about. Is it an offence to lose your temper?
Of course they can Warton.
Wharton - a quick google shows many occurrences in the last year or two of him losing his temper.
Can they? Examples please? And I take it you've never lost your temper?
Teej; must say, I am surprised at your lack of compassion and empathy here. I was in the 'ban the thug for life' camp until very recently, but after reading more about Barton's anger issues, I've tried to understand what the guy is all about, and changed my onion of him.
I think the bloke deserves a fair go. He's not going to be helped by so many negative attitudes and deliberate attempts to wind him up all the time.
Joey Barton is the Elfinsafety of the footballing world. Bin a bad boy, but reformed somewhat yet still gets unfair treatment based on his past....
I would have banned him after his jailtime for thuggery. I am astounded any manager will employ him quite honestly.
you watch a lot of football dont you
As I I have said twice - I could be wrong - maybe he is a reformed charectar but it does not appear so to me.
so apart from attending anger management, counselling, counselling/mentoring others and not committing any more offence you want what exactly to convince you? Noble peace prize? Ordained into ministry.
Waht you say is hardly hard evidence.
You are correct those facts are not indeed hard evidence when compared to your [ might be wrong by your own admission]opinion of him.
Take the edinburgh defence
Elf _ I take your point. As I said perhaps a temp ban after the jail time.
As it is it is sending out an message that violence is acceptable and that I think is wrong.
If he hadn't been indulged so much when he was younger perhaps he wouldn't have come to this.
its not a one off incident - its a series of serious incidents over many years
Junkyard - anyone can attend those things - its the intent to change that needs to be there and I doubt. He still loses his temper on the field and behaves very arrogantly off it.
The Pederson punch was the act of a player that had been constantly wound up for a whole game by a team who knew he was an easy target. The person who should have been ashamed after that incident was that dishonest prick Pederson, going down like he had just taken a twelve-bore after a shove.
and let me try a third time
WHAT WOULD CONVINCE YOU
Please dont tell me what you think as I can read
PS how does he show intent to change if not be attending these and not commiting offences?
Is arrogance illegal?
Is it illegal to loose your temper?
Actualy lets just see if you can answer one of these question ...lets not push you too hard 😉
lets not push you too hard
In case he goes down like Pederson.
What would convince me - If he stopped acting like an arrogant twerp and stopped losing his temper.
DD -= agree with you about that.
If he stopped acting like an arrogant twerp and stopped losing his temper.
STW would be very quiet if this was made illegal.
Compared to his previous it is some serious progress and it is not illegal.
Barton better than wiltshire, having a laugh aren't you...
Anyway Scott Parker won the PFA paler of the year, he's english!
Gerrard & Lampard both had low key seasons by their own standards, but the level they have performed at over the last decade is a different class to anything Barton is capable of.
Got to love the Geordies, most deluded fans going, only thing Big about Newcastle football club is Mike Ashleys belly

Nasty piece of work. Should be in jail
POSTED 12 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST
This. Best post tj ever made
So being arrogant and losing your temper once in 24 months (still waiting for TJ to provide other examples, and examples of the FA banning people for non footballing issues) means you are still violent and should be in prison. Nice.
Its wendyball wgas.
Who's Wendy Ball?
