Nice jeans....but for a site selling top end jeans it is a spectacularly bad website. Unlike the huit website itself which is much more fitting for the product.

Maybe that's the thing? The better the product, the worse the website?

Yep - shorts.
🙂

I wear supermarket jeans for work - they have to be washed every time their worn, last about six months.
Call it £1.00 per month.

Non work Levis/whatever's cheap at Boundary Mill usually last a couple of years or so, about £2.00 a month.

The decent ones are much nicer to wear.

I normally just get mine in the straight or slim cut from Asos, they fit pretty well, last long enough and hardly cost anything.

Next for jeans, lots of styles and colours. Good prices and very hard wearing. But more importantly they have a fit to suit you. Loose or straight should fit a cyclists leg.

So those Gustin look good and a crazy number of choices, when they come up. What are they like? Worth the hassle?

And aren't silly expensive. Neadless to say I struggle a bit to find many in a fashionable cut. 🙁

It's far, far more likely to find extensive articles in the fashion pages of newspapers and magazines on which denims are best for women to wear.
I like Uniqlo denims, especially their selvedge indigo denim, which is excellent. The sizes have to be watched closely, though; length seems ok, I take a 33-34" inseam, and a 32" waist, but when I bought mine, after (fortunately) trying a pair on in one of the London stores, I found I needed 34 x 34"! 😯

TK Maxx always seem to be loose fit styles which isn't my thing.

I've had loads of slim/skinny fit from TK Maxx

My favourite jeans are usually G-Star (not from TK Maxx). Generally around £110/pair so only one pair a year or two

Emsz, spot on!

Rule 4

Haven't owned any normal jeans for years. The tyranny of dullness that is blue denim must be stopped!

Currently sporting a pair of Mountain Khaki cords.

Wow!! 2 pages, just on jeans. Good work, people

FYI: I found some in a GAP store I was in the other day so I'm gonna give those a go.

Cheers for the input.

@peterfile - what did you go for?

Went for the Heavy American, which seems to be a good starting point.

I've got a mountain of cords, chinos, trousers etc. The only thing I don't have much of is decent jeans.

ballpark, how much do they work out at? Not sure I want to create an account just to find out pricing.

Or is it 'if you have to ask, you can't afford it'

Aeroleathers in Hawick sell Levis and Lee Vintage as well as some others. Silvetto is also worth a look as they are a wee bit cheaper than Aero at the moment.

Costco have Levis 501's @ 39.59 (inc VAT) and stock some other main brand/designer names. I think they import them direct from the US.

Stick with Levis. wear better then any other make.
Keep away from the fashion brands like FC UK, destroyed a pair after only a few weeks

Prana jeans for me. Bit of stretch in them, cut is good, easy to climb in them and general dossing and fit my bit cycle thighs nicely.

Haven't a clue, they just appear in the drawer when my last pair are about to bite the dust. Might be something to do with socks and pants fairy.

I've got nudies, there marketing is nice and they look great. But I never get the wear out of them they advertise, the crotch always goes well before I get the nice worn lines etc. Might return to levis, if they offer nice cuts etc

I'll check out their jeans, thanks for the tip. 😀

Modus climbing jeans from Prana. Last pair lasted about 3 years. They were my only jeans and took a lot of stick.

I'll have to pay VAT, but doubt it will trigger import duties.

Next loose fit are good for cyclist legs without looking like Madness Baggy Trousers

No no no. I used to think this, then saw a guy at work in loose trousers and thought "jeez he looks like a 90's dad". Now I'm not exactly down with the kids, but I had a sudden realisation how uncool all my loose fit trousers I've been wearing for 20 years are.

Went to next, tried the slim (ffs not skinny) jeans and haven't looked back. Bikers' arse and legs look much better in jeans that taper with our legs rather than try and cover the whole lot up.

Gok x

Edit; Next had tonnes of good jeans new range £20-35 after Christmas, meant to go back after pay day to get some. T he y last well too.

If you are looking at spending Huit prices check out Tellason too. Been a great pair of jeans. Unbranded are good for cheap selvage. I'm a selvage convert - they seem to last many months longer than standard organic denim on me and if you wear through them they are worth repairing.

If you are near Birmingham http://www.liquorstoreclothing.com are worth a visit. Lots of denim in to try (inc Huit) and they really know their stuff.

Having read the 'buy cheap/no point in spending'- my sale/good jeans last many years each. So I'd rather buy something at least vaguely nice that I know will last than cheap Tesco jobbies. I've no idea how Diesel etc treat their suppliers but I doubt £6 jeans suppliers to Tescos are treated respectfully and ethically. Especially some of the stories you hear on this.

Jeans must be the dullest form of lally covering known, especially jeans bores. Why on gods earth a pair might cost over £200 is incredible. They must be the least effective form of sartorial expression known to man.

Don't forget that you must also tell everyone how much they cost and how proud you are that you don't wash the .

That last one is a genuine WTF for me.

Hygiene?

I can see both sides of the argument. The people who spend minimal- what is their likes/what do they like to indulge alittle? We all do. The people who just cant see it blind themselves to what they also indulge.

Shopping the other week I walked out with my Replay jeans bargain. Friend says 'clothes dont do it for me at all/functional'...he drives a nice Audi 😀

All blokes should have a pride in their clothes. Unless you are in a longterm relationship or longterm single 😆
