On one of my trails there is still legacy bombholes in a row.
When I'm building new track in the future.... at least I know how to diffuse a bomb with a 17e fuse.
Come to think of it I carry most of that kit he had in my camelbak anyway.

Really? A hand drill? Water pump? Fair doos you're well equipped ๐
He says most so guess he means he doesn't carry a cycle pump.
Aye, who would need something so specific on a bike ride. A tapered threaded etc etc needle on the other hand...
He was simply making the point that modern blokes, in general, have lost a host of practical and impractical skills that our fathers, grandfathers and forefathers pretty much took for granted
Fair enough, I didn't watch the show ๐
But skills come and go. Yes, most men don't know how to re-seat valves and whatnot, but it's not needed any more. De-fragging hard drives or getting your iPhone to sync with your laptop - those are modern skills.
I don't know how to plant vegetables, butcher a sheep or hunt with ferrets. Many of my forefathers probably did. Not sure if it's such a problem to be honest. I am however slightly proud of the fact that my laptop is running efficiently, stably and securely.. ๐
Nothing wrong with men dancing,
I used to go dancing and once tapped with both feet...although nothing too energetic as I didn't want to spill my pint.
Between mouthfulls of lager I sometimes would nod my head in time with the beat.
Oh and Mrs Grips ............... and happily tows the caravan when the need arises.
That's a bit cruel, is she in training for the world's strongest woman or something?
