I genuinely enjoyed Red shift.
Made a nice change from mission impossible 32 or James bond 328.

There’s a really good sense of humour to it.

ah, a thousand apologies to The Rock! I didn’t read beyond the first line of your post. Yes, his film “Red Notice” is great. I think I even commented on it a few pages back 😀 There’s another film on Sky called “SAS: Red Notice” which I’ve recently seen, it’s so terrible that I’m apoplectic with rage and cannot think straight 😂 Do not watch it!!

Ah, the regular 'Where to start with Bond' thread.

Is your 8-year old genuinely curious? Or do you think they should be? Mine expressed interest in the older movies after seeing Casino Royal with Daniel Craig. A few minutes of Dr No was enough to send them off to watch Twitch.

My SO & I carried on and endured all of the Bond movies with the exception of David Niven's appearance as Bond. They have their moments.Had I not seen them all before on TV or at the movies from Moonraker on I'd not have persevered.

There are better movies. Spies in Disguise - better movie all round for an 8-year old, and most ages, than any of the pre-Dalton movies and more credible than many since.

A thourougly entertaining wholesome ‘popcorn’ hiest/action flick, I thought. Rated 12A, so basically suitable for any audience.

Yep, we enjoyed it as did my nephews (to whom I recommended it).

I watched this recently with the kids. Agree it is absolutely awful, but the kids loved it (11 and 12).

the one with Zorin.

A view to a Kill

Grace Jones
Christopher Walken
Duran duran
an air ship

That or Living Daylights w Timothy Dalton. The best bond.

(yeah thats right, ive said it, and you can't stop me)

best balance of Oldschool/Newschool.

It’s getting confusing.

Will give ‘SAS: Red Notice’ a miss, Thanks for the tipoff

Really enjoyed ‘Red Notice’, with tongue firmly in cheek.

Haven’t seen ‘Redshift’

Have seen ‘Red’. Wish I hadn’t, although it scores higher on Rotten Toms than does Red Notice. It seems that my tastes for OTT cheesy action/spy/crime-capers are still yet complicated.

Looking forward to the latest James Bond and I enjoyed Jack Ryan 1 and 2

The Jason Bourne series is still the one to beat, IMO. Maybe not for 8 year-olds tho.

Nicked from Reddit.

These are 4 different "The Rock" films lol...

At least in the bottom left he's relaxed his confused-eyebrows acting technique.

I just watched ‘Red notice’ –

Dwayne Johnson … John Hartley
Ryan Reynolds … Nolan Booth
Gal Gadot … The Bishop

Unfortunately this disqualifies you from being allowed to comment on a film thread ever again! It was absolute gash of the highest order..

They’ve come home and asked to watch it as some mates have. So I think the impetus is there.

We’ll make a choice and go for it. Moon Raker is looking popular

It was on a few Sundays ago, when I collapsed on the sofa after a few hours riding. It was undemanding and cheesy but still made far more sense than the most recent one. Still absolute rubbish, though. If I could have been bothered to find the remote it wouldn't have been on.

Start at the beginning and work your way through.
