Certainly girls I've been with in the past were friends as well as lovers, and in a number of cases they are still some of my closest friend even after many years. We may not see each other very often, distance and lifestyle prevents that, but when we do get in touch, conversations last for a very long time, and we all trust one another implicitly. I certainly can't imagine not being friends still with someone I loved deeply. And still do.
