It’s very meta.

NB Sub sea fibres getting cut is really common, normally ships dragging anchors or undersea plate movements. They have repair ships who endlessly hook up the broken ends, patch them back together then just sail on to the next one…
While being fired on by Houthi forces with missiles…
Dramatically complicating the process.

Cables cut ?. Information for the whole region under the sea and they were cut(or caught by an anchor as per the US propaganda department), but even then thats also a smokescreen.
.
These cables are routinely intercepted and rather than cut to destroy, they effectively 'phone tap' them, which is probably what has happened here, and the only people capable of putting down divers to install listening or information gathering is more than likely going to be the Americans themselves.
.
But the above is by the by. Just how the big players gather intelligence, and we've known thats one method used for as long as we've had easily accessed cables running under the sea.
Facebook goes down, discord, etc is probably nothing to do with cables in the middle east, and all the data and the servers for Europe and the US are in Europe and the US.. Damage to information carrying lines that were to become damaged would affect that region, but not anything in Europe. So whatever has happened is nothing to do with these particular systems.
