Bestmates birthday night out
and
Hes not been up here once since we relocated 7yrs ago.
Are you sure about the first statement?
I've known my best mate for almost 30 years. We live 200 miles apart. We both have families and we both have jobs involving working away / long hours. We make a point of getting together twice a year; once at his and once at mine.
Friends are important and you need to look after them.

I didn't realise I invited you.
You are Hora's imaginary friend and I claim my £5
My best friend is better than your best friend Hora, mine's real.
Anyway,I thought Brighton is the gay capital of the south coast, how can you resist it?
Bah, bin him off. That's far to far to travel for a night out you know you won't enjoy.
I keep friendships. Decades 8)
mores the pity 😉
Are you coming out tonight then, or what? for a beer I mean? Not the closet?
Sounds to me like your already decided your not going (dont blame you) and just need a good excuse. Perhaps change the thread to something seeking for the best excuse? I had someone drop out of my engagement party with: "sorry we can't come the cat has worms and we think the toddler has eaten one" it was backed up with an MMS of them in A&E and everything. Proper pros.
Hora is already the grand master of 'the dog ate my homework, sir' style excuses

It's not a pootle
