the heat of the shower gives more vapour which will rise plus you are trapped in an enclosed space.

Enclosed space. Clothes probably delay the rate of release into the atmosphere as well, therefore diluting the gas.

I've always assumed that some of the gases dissolved in water, leaving more of the pungent ones to enjoy. 😀

Let rip a mean one in my waterproof shorts this morning on the way to work. Got one hell of a shock when I changed 35 mins later. Took me a sec to realise where the pong came from!

I didn't find anything (not really checked) but the way I have been lately it would have been more chocolate raisins.

I think the water vapour mixed with the farts improves the way they bond with the smell receptors in your nose.

I assumed it was due to the 2 phase nature of farts.

The solid phase (aka brown pollen) would be entrained by the water, leaving the methane/suphurdioxide to offend anyone nearby hence the different smell.

I've always thought it worked on the same principle as smoking weed through a bong?
