Just in the process of selling goods on forum ,buyer wants my bank account details ,would you give yours ??

yes, often. back in the day when cheques were used there was more information on those than what you'll give out to someone to pay you.

EDIT

all you need to give is your name, bank account number and sort code number.

Yes, safer than cheque too as it can't bounce.

Yes - safe, just make sure you double check all the details because if you make a mistake, its a pain to rectify

Always used to laugh when people used to tell me they didn't want me to see their bank details from a bank transfer, but where quite happy to send them along with a specimen of their signature on a cheque instead...

Yes. I have paid most of the STW folks this way.
