Can anyone recommend a decent bit of free software to convert DVD films so I can put them onto my Ipod Touch?

Yep, just started using Handbrake this week myself to copy my son's favourite DVDs onto my iPhone. Worked first time and is very simple to use.

will give that a go, had a quick look, do you convert to H.264?

I just selected the itouch/iphone option on the right of the screen and used the presets as they were.

even better other software asks you how you want to convert it, not what for, sounds spot on.. thanks!!
