my mates cbx 550 starts,does about 2 miles,cuts out,starts,cuts out and then will restart on run perfectly,any ideas anyone please

Could be a 101 different electrical or fuel issues
The only similar symptoms I can recall on my bikes was caused by an air leak on a carb inlet balance pipe

i had one, and similar things happened, it was the ignition module.

on the grounds of doing cheap things first
it's not airlocking is it (leave tank open)
or fuel filter blocked type stuff

At least it's not the cam chain tensioner. 😕
