I quite like these two:
.
The Vatican City has the greatest pope-density of any nation, with 2 popes/sqkm (it has one pope and is roughly half a square kilometer) Italy is next with 0.000008595 ex-popes/sqkm. All other countries have 0 popes/sqkm.
.
99.99999% of people have more than the average number of legs.
Think of how many people have three legs (very few, the odd genetic abnormality or conjoined twin) and how many people have one or no legs (not many, but certainly more than have three) Therefore the average number of legs per person is about 1.99999, meaning 99.99999% of people have more than the average.
.
Let's hear yours.

I saw a presentation a couple of years back , allegedly produced by the HSE that stated that 16% of workplace accidents were caused by the injured part being stuck by a stationary object.

They could, but almost all of the world choses not to do so, which says pretty much all we need to know about the Isle of Wight really.

Those movie things are just a form of confirmation bias. Nobody makes movies about the housekeeper stuck in an unsatisfying relationship with the geek fixing printers, who got in the car and escaped.

If you took all of the veins and arteries out of your body and lined them up end to end in one big long continuous line, you'd be dead.

Just a bit out of date, see John Brunner's 1968 novel Stand on Zanzibar. Still a good read.

There are more people in the UK that believe spurious statistics who's names begin with A, B or C than X, Y or Z.

Not really stats, but maths, but apparently

You can add an infinite series of positive numbers, and they’ll add up to a negative fraction.

Haven't watched the video yet, but wha?

Strapline

This post involves math. Really bizarre, brain-melting math. The math itself is actually not that complicated—I promise!—but the result will carve out a piece of your soul and leave hollow space. Seriously, please, bear with this. I pounded my head on my desk enough to leave a dent in the wood and a welt in my forehead to figure this out, so please just stick with it. When it’s done, you’ll have a better appreciation for just how completely flippin’ weird our Universe is.

wiggles
More people are killed each year by vending machines than sharks

This is only because the sharks are angry, as their packet of NikNaks got 'hungup' and without forearms they find rocking the machine to release them difficult.........

If you analyse natural numbers e.g. numbers you come across while reading newspapers or websites, or even tables in engineering handbooks 31% will start with 1, 18% start with 2 and only 5% start with 9.

Not since the end of the 1970's, when it got bigger than 4 billion, it can't.
