Just had a quote from Cycleguard for £160 per annum which covers a bike worth £1000 + £500 accessories from theft and also provides £5mn of public liability insurance.

Sounds OK to me. Any opinions on this? I suppose i should check the policy for what constitutes an accessory

Thanks all

Sounds like alot of money to me. More than 10% of the value of your items per year. Whats the excess?
Only worth it if it gets stolen and they pay out!

£25 excess for all but public liability which is £500 excess. I guess they might have difficulty assessing the replacement cost of the bike though since it was a custom build from the frame up

I recently bought some home contents insurance - while I was going through quotes I could get £5k worth of bike cover + another £35k worth of contents cover for about the same amount.

On that basis, it's a hell of a lot of cash for the cover. I looked at cycleguard a while back just to cover some of my expensive bikes and decided that it didn't make much sense.

Cheers, Rich

That's almost twice as much as my house contents insurance, which covers my er, house contents as well as 4 bikes a grand and over.
