[#11662102]

How's this work then, had a message in Instagram from a random with 1 follower. Asking me to DM a sportswear company as they "want to work with you".
Company appears legit, website, payment options and reviews etc.
What they get out of this/ how does it work? Obviously not messaged them but curious how it works.

They’ll probably want you to buy the gear at a ‘discount’ and give you a better discount when people buy using your code. Randomly happened to my dog via my Instagram.

I hope your dog took full advantage of it 😁
Cheers, was curious to understand their angle.

I ignore anyone who wants me to be "an ambassador" for their brand. They aren't in it to make me look good. That's an impossibility.

I've had a few of these recently where they look like the real Instagram account but actually are a few letters off. Check the insta handle really tightly and it might well be a few letters off or with an extra .team or something.
my parterns business got copied by one of these for a competition,

abbeydalebeers (real) vs abbeydallebeers (fake)

the fake account is still up there regardless of how many times its been reported as scam/identity theft / pretending to be someone else

It's just a way to get you to buy their products at a so called discount and you get to pretend you are an ambassador for some unknown brand = reality you have just become another customer and you might get a jumper or something that is still not worth what you paid for it.

Saw quite an increase in these last year, i get at least one every post I make.

Sounds similar to the emails I receive occasionally admiring my work on my singletrackworld site and wanting to work with me in the future.
Flattering, of course, but I’m not sure what they get out of it.
