In short I have recently moved house and basically lived on Innocent Vege Pots Subway Sandwiches for 3 months - and I have lost about 1/2 stone!

But anyways - I love the Vege Pots for lunch at work - healthy, filling and lowish on the calorie count - not often that happens, but the cost in an inhibiting factor though I usually get the ones on BOGOFF etc. I have collected a dozen pots and have decided to make some of my own and freeze them.

Was wondering if anyone had any recipes stashed up their sleeve they would want to share.

If anyone is interested I will share any I find etc.

I thought those Innocent Veg pots were horrible!

Make a load of chilli/curry/bolognese etc. Proper winter food 🙂

I've been making home-made chow mein pot noodles.

Couple of dried noodle nests, half a dozen sliced mushrooms, handful of frozen peas, tablespoonful of spring onions, and chopped ham if you're of a carnivorous leaning (Quorn ham works too).

Sauce: veg stock cube made up to about 120ml, tsp each of ginger, garlic powder, chinese 5-spice, and a good glug of dark soy sauce, should be about 150ml when you've done.

Pitch the lot in a pan and simmer until the noodles are soft. Makes a big main meal, or maybe four snack-sized pots.

just copy what's on the ingredients list and make it yourself? Done this myself with recipe sauces in jars etc when I was learning to cook.

Not a veggie pot, but I make my own version of them instant porridges that are well expensive. Take one to work each morning for breakfast and normally sees me good from around 7:00 am till lunchtime.

Small tupperware type box with lid.

4 tablespoons of porridge oats
1 tablespoon milk powder
sugar/salt to taste

Add anything else you want. Currently I'm into a dollop of peanut butter.

Get to work and add water from boiled kettle to approx 2x height (eg porridge 2cm in pot, fill water to around 4cm) Stir for a few seconds, pop lid back on and leave for 5-10 minutes. Remove lid stir again and enjoy.

Bought a couple on a BOGOF deal, never ate the second one. They were over-priced at half the price too!

I'm sure it won't be hard to better them with your own efforts. Last night's leftovers is always a good start.
