just been to PC world as i had run out of black ink, a mistake i will not make again.
As i will need some more ink soon i thought i would ask which online companies are worth dealing with.
If it matters the printer is a Canon Pixma ip3500, so would branded, refilled or compatible make any difference?
The only recent experience i have had with compatibles was on the ex-works colour laser and they were crap.
If you want to use compatible cartridges then look for jet tec ones. i sell loads of these through my shop and very rarely get any faulty ones back.

I bought some inkrite ones for a canon mutli-function thingy - they were shite
Ink wasn't as good and you're supposed to dig out the little chip fom the existing canon cartridge & stuff it onto theirs, then try to override the canon software saying that the cartridge was empty (which would mean you don't know when it's running out next time)
