Arrived back this morning, no tyre issues at all. 1450 miles all in and will confess to breathing a sigh of relief once back on the ferry.

I think we may have struggled in any event if I had bought a tyre/wheel as the boot was pretty full with luggage.

That’s not to say that we had no car mishaps, rather bizarrely, and having coped admirably with a horrendous downpour from Rotterdam, my wipers decided to let go in Morzine. A quick search for a local mechanic and couriering a RHD full wiper linkage and motor assembly from an eBay seller in Germany, to Morzine, got the repair sorted before the return journey....during which it remained completely dry.

Decent mechanic in town pulled out the stops to help and I’ll PSA him.
