if the op worries that he feels guilty because he doesn't like russians, i'm here to tell him that he should.

Thanks for that but I'm neither worried nor feeling guilty about not liking Russians. (I wasn't bothered about them either way until I came across them in Goa 3 years ago, but they get no better) I'll pass your comment on to Raj, Addie, Nilash, Kashu, Sanjay, Brom, Bobby & 'Mr Smiley Man' at the Viva Goa restaraunt when we go back next year. They don't like em either. ๐Ÿ˜€

I bet it's got a strangely familiar dent in the other face of it too.

Although, a cheaper version is out now. It's only double machined.

And if you want, there's a bargain basement version (made in China) that's only drop forged.

i had a run in with 2 russian gentlemen whilst on holiday in turkey.
9am in the morning and they were drunk on vodka whilst in the breakfast restaraunt.
they were picking food up with their bare hands and placing it back.
i asked them to stop doing it so i could get some bread....they refused.
the manager and security removed them.

I go to Turkey every year to stay with friends and its full of Russians. You can spot them a mile of, they are usually wearing thongs, men and women. They are very rude and cheap and not very well liked by the locals. I heard a story about some women going into a shop and picking up fags and walking out the door. When they were caught they said they were all inclusive and they thought this ment it covered all the shops as well as hotel bar.

Racism against the people who sacrificed tens of million's to save us against national socialism. Whilst the OP holidays in a destination where the locals are exploited/paid a tiny portion and then theres the fuel to get the OP there and back. Bet your pro-recycle at home though huh?

Reverse-arrogance. I wonder what the locals think of tourists.

Hmm, a family friend spent many years in Russia and Ukraine and came to the conclusion they were (in general) some of the rudest people going.

Though the story of how the Ukranian police dealt with the happy-go-lucky-peg-selling travelling-romany-types in Kiev would be a lesson our police should take on board!

From a friend who lived out there for a few years, many Brits aren't exactly favourites there either.

I think their priority might have been saving themselves.

The 15 or so Russians we and the misses had the pleasure of sharing an excursion with in the Dominican were rude, horrible people. I'm sure not Russians are the same.

Op's said: I'm not a racist but.....

Bad news OP, you're a racist.

Racially motivated judgement on a culture of arse hats makes you worse than the culture your judging.

Racism against the people who sacrificed tens of million's to save us against national socialism

And then went on to oppress millions of others with their version of real socialism.

The vast majority of Russian holidaymakers that I encountered on holiday in Goa last week were a bunch of arrogant, rude, disrespectful, (to the locals) robbing barstewards. Horrible people.
Not surprisingly, very few Goan people like them!

.
LOL lucky your not in East London then
Also don't have an holiday in Spain as Russians are now
second to own most properties in Spain after the UK

Where by far the 'worst' people in terms of behaviour and attitude are amongst the white, working class 'traditional EastEnders' who seem to think they alone have sole right to live in the area.

I think you meant to say slaughtered not sacrificed. Uncle Joe was reckless and careless of his peoples lives and if you didn't advance into the firefight with or without weapon the NKVD would ensure you died.

Where in Goa did you go to OP? thinking about booking some flights soon and chilling on Palolem beach.

We've been to Candolim for the last 4 years & find it pretty much to our liking, busy but not Blackpool, plenty of good eateries & once you get off the Beach Road part of the beach it's reasonably quiet. Friendly people too (apart from the Eastern Europeans!)
From what I've read, Palolem beach isn't that quiet anymore but a good book is The Rough Guide to Goa which explains lots & seems to be a fairly true account, from what we've seen & it covers just about everything from backpacking to package holiday info.
We went up to Keri beach & Mandrem beach which were pretty quiet with less hassle from beach sellers than Candolim.
Already looking at flights & apartments for next year!

Apart from Cashew Nut production Hora, have a wild guess where Goa's other big income comes from. I mean I haven't Googled it but I'd say tourism comes high on the list.
Have you actually been to Goa?

Did it start right? Naivety over where tourism income goes. 'Jobs' doesnt mean well paid or a good cut of the profits.
