Me too...it's what blows me away about HM runners that run 13 miles in around 70 minutes.

I did the Great Yorkshire 10k run the other year. It's an out and back course. So while I am killing myself running at 7ish mile/min on one side of the road, these kenyan chaps come sprinting past the other way. Might as well have been sitting in the pub for the exertion they were showing.

I'm easily led though darcy... and you've somewhat crushed my youthful enthusiasm.

😐

And I thought I'd goaded you into having a go. I'd seriously like to see how a fittie like yourself would do trying to run at that pace.

I'm not even Kenyan 🙁

Solo... what was this crash?

Yeah, you might have added too much doubt Darcy. I am going to do some running this winter though so I'm keeping it as a target. Want to put in some serious base work and maybe lose a bit more weight... don't want to get injured!

Leave him Darcy, it's obvious he is not up to the challenge.

It's an out and back course. So while I am killing myself...

Same here with both the Bristol 10K and HM - a good stretch of both goes out the portway (underneath the suspension bridge), so yeah, you get the see the bastards come flying past, already about three miles ahead of you - looking like they're just lolloping along...and what's worse...you have to applaud them. It's how I imagine Molly runs since he adjusted his footstrike. 🙂

I hear he is like a greased whippet falling off a cliff, since making the change.

I did 8 x 200m intervals then worked out what it would be for a mile at that pace - without the walking around between. Not saying like.....

Solo - what's this crashing thing?

Sat eve, did a nocturnal road ride with a friend.
Some distance into the ride I crash big time at considerable speed.

Double fracture to right wrist, severely impacted back in region of D1 ? vertebrae, very pain upper body pain now and swelling, yadda, yadda.

I've tried to avoid calling on Mr Ibruprophen, have had to relent occassionally.
Fracture clinic yesterday saw me told that some of the injuries may never fully heal, I've been awarded a blue polyester cast for my endeavours.

So, learning now to do stuff LH'd and by myself.
Go on, now I suppose you're gonna tell me its going to rain.
😐

Thanks TSY.
I can't get back on a bike this side of xmas, which really sucks !.

hard out iDieting for you for the time being then?

Thats the dilema. I'm not going to compromise maximizing my recovery, from a diet perspective, but after reaching 80.5 Kg, shedding fat while increasing muscle, was very motivating, would be a pity to see it reverse.
Does boosting one's intake of certain micronutrients, actually contribute positively to the body's repair ?.

But You guys are spot on, when it counts.

I'll be back on two wheels one day.

Cheers.

Apparently, some fragments of bone typically wont knit back to the main body of the main bone.

I've started taking a calcium sup and drinking milk (yuck) for a temporary period, in light of no other advise.

Been thinking of seeing my GP.
Will make an appointment tomorrow.
Upper body pain and swelling is concerning.
Also passed pink water after the crash, but thats stopped now.
Also internal chest pain in the area of the esophagus.
All was repoted at A n E, but they only seemed interested in the wrist.
It was a proper body slam on the deck, after I'd used my face to plough the verge.
Mate recons we were doing mid to high 20s mph. at the moment of the crash.

I just had fish and chips and mushy peas, purely because I've had a shitty day and feel weak. though I am doing a 100 miler on Sunday as penance.

And three slices of German salami.

I'm not doing a 100 miler on Sunday. I shall be beginning my holiday.

Good stuff, as we know, its a fine way yo start.
In time, get yourselves over to MDA.
I'm not fully endorsing everything Mark recommends, but he's got some good reading on his blog.
As you may know, I've combined my iDave diet experience with an MDA/Paleo theme and its been very good to me.
But you defo need the iDave knowledge imo.
🙂

Fish n Chips the eve before a major event is something highly recommended by some.

ime, I can't say I disagree.
I've felt very good during an activity, on F n C the night before.

However, the odd, transgerssion by someone whos' body is well use to resorting to body fat as its primary enrgy source.
Wont be hosing all that away with the odd transgression.
Kinda in the day off stylee of the original iDiet, no ?.
🙂

Baked beans with chorizio and chilli could be a new wonder food.

Previously I've hated the little orange ********!

Want a breakfast idea?

- leg of pork steak (proper cheap)
- olive oil
- fennel seeds
- homemade coleslaw

= bang tidy breakfast

Coleslaw only needs to consist of say 2 large carrots, 1/3 white cabbage and 1/3 medium red or white onion. Grate/slash into a bowl and add whatever quantity of mayo, olive oil, grainy mustard and a dash of water. Keeps for 3-4 days and is proper nom.

Quick fry pork in oil/fennel seeds and Bob's yer uncle.
