Looking for a decent shed, doesn't need to be super secure as the bikes live in the very secure garage. I reckon 8' x 6" should be big enough.

Should I go for wood, plastic or metal? Assume I need to lay a concrete foundation, or slabs on a mix?

Any suggestions, and recommendations for retailers?

I've done the usual searches online but nothing seems to be a particular bargain, to put it mildly

concrete foundation not necessary for a shed, but you might want a nice level surface. My shed came with three bearers which you put underneath the base on a firm level surface; if your topsoil is firm enough, a 12in square slab at each corner & two across the middle should be good enough. Not sure if you'd need a fully slabbed surface though

whereabouts are you? There's a garden centre in Bradford with a decent range of sheds, and an 'outbuilding' supplier in Leeds that looks pretty good too. Does sheds, wendy houses, garages, greenhouses etc.

and **** me, look over there ---->

there's an ad for gardenbuildings direct. How the f*** did that get there?

<edit> it's gone now </edit> but the prices looked quite good. 8x6 apex shed for under £200

Dagnabbits I'm in France at the moment and the only advert I'm getting is one for big floor cushions! Not quite what I'm looking for either.

As with most things, you get what you pay for. A £200 quid shed will be crap. I know, I've got one and I have to take care not to fart when I'm inside it if I want to keep the roof on.

Build your own - much more fun. I got completely carried away and ended up with a double glazed fully insulated, heated beast. I can fart to my heart's content without a care in the world.

Sounds silly and depends alot on where you are based but I have an old container that i picked up off the tinternet for under £300 delivered on the back of a hiab and placed in my back garden. OK i hear you saying is he mad but if you can pick up a bargin like i did and have access to the back garden from the road it is easy to do. All i have done clad it in timber and put a pitched roof on it for cheap as chips. Some one else i know just painted his green and hay presto you have a very secure water tigh option to a garden shed.

Just a thought
