What is it with websites where you have to untick the spam box & which then tick it again if for any reason you have to resubmit a part of the order form?

Do they not appreciate that trying to sneakily send you newsletters etc that you have said you don't want isn't exactly endearing your company to potential customers?

Grr

Probably not a conspiracy,

Just bad form design by the web designer.

Norton software is the worst I have had dealings. Paid for it years ago on a credit card (yes I know, schoolboy error) but then the following year £65 was deducted from my credit card because I hadnt unticked the box the previous year when I bought it first time (special offer £35) which allowed them to automatically take cash every year. I went through about 14 pages until I found the box to untick, anchors

I hate this shit, where in order to opt out of all spam, you need to tick one box but leave the other unchecked.

🙄

He said "if you have to resubmit the form"

So it resets the form to starting point in most sections.

Fill the form in correctly and it works fine.

Don't have any business with companies that would treat you in such a cavallier manner.

Multiple Grrr here. I have to complete these things all the flippin time and it's a right old PITA.

Web Designers should take note that the audience they deal with is often 15 years older that they are.

They have a lot to learn.

I like the ones that use double/triple negatives:

"We send you email spam. If you do not wish to be removed from our opt-out list then please untick the box marked Yes."

Report them to the Information Commissioner. There are guidelines under DPA for this sort of thing re opt-outs/opt-ins. Especially in terms of making it clear.

I hate the asterisk alongside 'required' information. If it's not required, don't ask me for it in the first place.

Thanks for unsubscribing so you don't get any more emails. We will now send you one more email that doesn't say anything.
