My monies on the men thinking they're coming for some kinky sex games.
They have contacted someone online who provides 'select' services. They are told where to go. Where to park so they don't attract the neigbours and they are given a secret code to gain entry.
Whether it's a genuine mistake, somebody setting you up or satnav postcode error who knows?
They've not issued any threats or violence, it's just totally bizarre and suspicious behavior. The first time it happened they sat outside for a while after he'd been to the door, I went out and took photos and told them to scram but at only 5'2 I'm not barging through anyone, but I figured they won't mess with crazy. Unfortunately, the headlights were on full beam so you couldn't make out the reg. The second time they scarpered as I was already on the dialing the police before the end of the conversation.
I've just had another call from the police, they're concerned and my house and phone numbers have been flagged as priority. The officer suggested Ring but said that it probably wouldn't capture reg plates, I've moved my car further up the drive to give a clearer view of the road for now and I'll order cameras in the morning. My head is mince and I can't make decisions today.
I've got no idea what's going on, or why and how I'm involved in it. I've gone through all the people who may have a grudge, the comings and goings of my neighbours incase my cat crapped in their garden or their cat went in someone else's, extremist groups in the area and possible properties for sex trafficking or county lines.
It's just so strange
If they are going to your neighbours too, then it's not personal.
Stop stressing
Agree, if they've also been to a neighbour's door then it doesn't sound personal. Do you have a Neighbourhood Watch scheme where you are?
As for cameras, as long as the vehicle stops you don't need massively high resolution to capture a number plate, 1080 would be fine. As soon as it's moving though most camera systems are a bit pants as stepping through frames it will usually be too blurred to make out a reg plate (especially at night). I have a decent Hikvision wired IP system - quality is amazing when stuff is stationary (even at night - although it can't cut through car headlights) but is a bit pants when stuff is moving (especially at night)
What trifoster says, you've a pervhouse in your street, I wouldn't worry about it.
Most bizarre thread I've read on here for a long time. Not helped by the strange drip feeding of info.
It's clearly not a personal attack and not violent, if it was you would know. I would save yourself some money and bin off the pointless CCTV.
What a funny set of circumstances!
Do you live in a cul de sac? Stick with me....Where i live we had a problem with fly tippers who would go to the end of the lane, dump their sh1t and drive back...me and the neighbours organised a roadblock so when they next went up the lane (this was happening on a regular basis) we got on teh phones and blocked the lane and verges with our cars. Took photos, the reg, filmed it and told them in no uncertain terms that they were to go back, collect their sh1t and never return again, they haven't and that was years ago!
If this is affecting your neighbur too, why not work together and see if you can do your own sting, recruit a couple of other neighbours as help - a show of 'force'. If they see you as a cohesive community they may well just thik it's not worth it!
Secondly @nobeerinthefridge what on earth is a pervhouse?!?! The mind boggles!! 🙂
Ton of this parrish sells CCTV for a living IIRC - try PMing him?
It's utterly bizarre.
I live on a quiet estate in a chocolate box village. Even though there hasn't been any threats or violence, it's very odd and unsettling. I am concerned as other things have happened today which leave no doubt that I am a specific target, I've no idea why or what the objective is, nor the connection to my neighbours. The whole thing is totally ludicrous and more than a bit mental.
The neighbours are organising a neighbourhood watch scheme, and I've got a couple of companies coming to give me quotes and advice as I don't have the necessary tools to install it.
are you Dominic Cummings dad?
faerie what's your house number, not 9 by any chance?
what other things have been happening?
Motion activated wildlife camera by the gate pointing back at your front door. The thugs are more likely to keep their heads up when leaving as they would expect a ring or door mount camera to be mounted on the property. Then buy a load of PIR LED lamps so its like Stalag Luft3 as they walk up the drive. You could even mount one above the door as a blinder on a manual internal switch and set the sensors on max so it will fire on switching
Hope it works ok , bet your not sleeping either
You should open a brothel or crack house. Muddy the waters and cause confusion. Go on, you know it makes sense.
I can see the funny side of it, I used to live and work in a Dutch hotel 🤣🤣🤣 No, not one that rented rooms or girls by the hour. It's pure speculation but I wondered if it could somehow be connected to what's been going on.
Today I've been getting calls from a private number, asking me to confirm that my name is xxxx. Her name was Chastity and was calling from a company that doesn't exist.
It is freaking me out and I'm not getting much sleep, it's totally insane.
Arrange for neighbours to "visit" if they appear again. Make your road be busy. Do gardening. Also Light from the street towards the house so neighbours can see rather than just shadow. Driveway PIR doorbell stuck on a tree?
I'm invested now, what other weird thigs other than phone calls?!?
what on earth is a pervhouse?!?! The mind boggles!!
There's a little pervhouse in my soul.....
singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/i-think-i-need-cctv/page/2/#post-11213442
Nope, still none the wiser!
faerie - you still with us?
Hey, yeah.
It's all been quiet today thankfully. Another incident from Saturday has come to light though. A group of 6 tried to get into a neighbour's for a party, and became pushy and abusive but they didn't get in. Did anyone order hookers and coke?
The neighbours have been great, we've sorted out an informal neighbourhood watch for the moment and have been discussing cctv. There's a few vulnerable residents who are worried, so we're working together so that we can feel a bit safer. Still no idea what's going on though.
Are folk coming to the door individually? Is it possible that someone is sending prostitutes to you?
edit: I’ve just read the post above.
I reckon there's 3 possible scenarios:
A 'Ye Olde Knocking Shoppe' is operating somewhere close to your home.
A rumour has spread that there's a 'Ye Olde Knocking Shoppe' near your home, but there isn't.
Someone has started deliberately spreading a rumour that there's a 'Ye Olde Knocking Shoppe' on your street to upset either you or someone on the street for reasons unknown.
Either the taxi drivers have got wind of this house of ill repute (if anything shady is happening in an area, taxi drivers invariably know about it) and are looking for some post shift action. Or someone is directing them to your house/street on purpose to unsettle you.
The bit about the 'women walking around in suspenders' is odd. If someone is doing this on purpose to upset you. They're going to extreme lengths. I can't see it being easy to organise people to walk around in suspenders' in public, unless they're exceptionally motivated (and fu#@&ng weird!)
Or perhaps someone IS trying to upset you, but not all the strange things that you're witnessing are due to that person/organisation. You're concluding that all these strange incidents are linked when they're not?
The events have happened individually at different times of day, but the people have been approaching houses in various numbers. It's not just been prostitutes, it could be drugs as well, we've even had a taxi load of gatecrashers. In fact they've sent everything apart from the booze, I'll await a tesco van next. If Carlsberg did covid lockdown parties it would be a lot better than this.
I was wondering if some **** was posting an ad on gumtree, Snapchat or whatever with a drop pin, some of them seem to be trying to phone or message to check the address, are they calling Chastity?
Who knows?
Very irritating and concerning. I hope it isn’t anything sinister, just an idiot amusing themselves.
I'd imagine the usual dogging spots are a bit off limits at the moment and folk are using houses?, sounds like someone in your street is into it, or as said above, it's been posted accidentally or as a joke/revenge somewhere online, and that's why folk are turning up there.
Doesn't sound sinister tbh, but you'd be amazed at the amount of this shit that goes on, there's an underpass on my commute home, on the outskirts of a new town that is constantly littered with all sorts in the morning, dildo's, crusties, jonnies, it's ****in mingin, it's a horrible damp wee concrete tunnel, the mind does indeed boggle.
It seems to be getting stranger by the day. Was your neighbour actually having a party when 6 ppl showed up trying to get in?
have you checked Facebook for local groups or mention of your road?
Next time someone comes round can’t you just ask them how they came to choose your address?
I've asked, both times they have replied that "someone" gave it to them and that they can't tell me who. I've had a look at fb, but I'd expect that if anything were posted it would be on a more private platform. It's certainly strange, and we are none the the wiser as to who or why.
Could your address be the centre of the postcode?
😂 Not as unusual as I thought, but they only got the wrong address once. We've had at least 6 separate incidents over a sustained period of time.
I wondered if the addresses could be taken from a pin drop on Google maps or something, but the people at the doors have been given the address by someone and have called someone to confirm. So whoever it is, is actively doing so knowing that people are being turned away.
So I got the camera installed and had no nonsense for weeks. Until tonight, wrong address again. Once he'd gone I looked through the footage and the taxi had parked up the road behind someone else's car. Meh.
Must be someone from here and they knew you were going to install CCTV!
What would you have done if you'd ID'ed the vehicle other than to tell it was a taxi? You're going about this mystery the wrong way. You had someone at your door and you didn't question them.
How about trying the local taxi company as a walk in to their office... try and explain what's happening and see if they can shed light on the people who are hiring the taxi's to come see you... ?
Do the drivers recognise your address as "Oh, that place where ????? goes on" local gossip type thing.
Go in with some dates / times of the cab arrivals... Would the Serious Crime Squad support this (if they haven't done it already themselves).
Is there another address locally similar. Red tree lane Vs red tee road etc? Miss spelled post code / address (miss heard common spelling mistake / common aural mistake)? M Vs n etc. Any google map pins online? Miss placed pin? They could be using a pin as reference but it's miss placed.
I've questioned each individual as to why they're at my door, two said that it was for a delivery but they wouldn't tell me who from or what it was. Last night's guy didn't want to linger for my questions when he realised that I hadn't ordered his services.
I've called the local taxi companies and have told them what's happening and put a block on my address, but the taxis seem to be coming from further afield. The police are also looking into it, but nothing illegal has actually happened so they're not that concerned, although it's becoming harassment. I can see the funny side but it's happening regularly and frightening my kids and neighbours.
I didn't want to believe that someone could stoop so low, but I have my suspicions and I'm considering giving their name to the police. It's put me in a horrible position and is messing with my mind
Just give the details to the police, let them make a decision on what to do. They may not do anything right now, but at least your concerns with a potential suspect are on record.
There’s a little pervhouse in my soul…
Yours as well? 😳
The wildlife cameras, or some, can be very audible. A house in my street has one on their drive for a month for some reason, and it triggered walking past on the pavement. Maybe it had an ir flash or something as I'd anyways hear the whine of charging capacitors.... Used to get me going, and returning from the chippy!
This is facinating! Have you got pampas grass in your front garden by any chance?
At the risk of being dull: how about a simple sign at the end of your drive/on your gate? Words to the effect of: "looking for a party? This is the wrong house - CCTV is installed and images will be supplied to the police - bugger off"
Is there a house nearby with tbe same door number? Every few weeks we get a knock on the door from a Deliveroo driver with take away food. We haven't ordered it but a house with the same number in a road running parallel to ours has. I see the printed address on the package. The satnav brings them to our house. Bit much to expect them to rrad the road signs I guess.
Might be worth a walk around the close neignbourhood looking for party central.
The organised crime unit looked into it initially, as they thought it may have something to do with county lines, but that was disregarded when we learned of the other incidents that happened to neighbours. There's no nearby streets with a similar name and no other house numbers which can be confused. Four neighbours, all in a cluster on the corner of a cul-de-sac, have had hookers and party goers on the same night as me. I wondered if someone had posted or replied on something like Snapchat or Instagram that there was a party here and put a picture of Google maps. The neighbours think it could be a young lad across the road, I don't think he's got the money for coke and hookers.
I think the other night was the 3rd time I've had someone at my door since March, that I've been aware of. The first two were around the same time of night, with a similar script. The 3rd was earlier in the evening, the kids called me to say someone was at the door and I opened it. He'd already clicked that he had the wrong address and was leaving.
The camera picked up a car pulling up and then turning just at the periphery of the camera, but I got a clear view of him as he approached the door. It's not helpful though without the taxi details, we have the name of one company but we don't know if they're all from the same one. I've also had weird calls once a week, which alternate between two fictitious companies. One of the callers was called Chastity, it may or may not be related to the visitors.
Going by the principles of Occams razor, I've narrowed it down to an individual but I don't want to believe that they would do something like this again. If it is the individual I'm thinking of then they may have seen the thread, I'm aware that they follow me on other platforms but I don't use this user name on anything else.
What if I'm wrong and it's not them?
But, I guess if it is whom I think then the intent to cause doubt would be calculated.

Woah, an STW stalkathon? Who'd have thunk.
I once had a young lad come to our door at around 10.30pm, and ask to speak to Emily.
Since that is my wife's name, and she's a college lecturer, I asked what he wanted. He hummed and ha'd, and I said that if he wanted me to get her, he'd have to tell me what he wanted (assuming at this point it was a possibly disturbed student).
He explained he was moving away and wanted her to know how much he loved her before he did. Nonplussed, I cautiously called my wife to come down, thumbing '999' on my phone behind the door. She came down, and the kid did a double-take. 'That's not Emily!' he said. Er, it is, I said.
'Is this number 53,' he asked? It is, I confirmed. Woodfield Road? Ah, no.
Turned out his beau lived on Woodfield Road, about half a mile away, and he'd come to the same number house Woodville Road. Young love, eh?
