Have you ever driven in Italy ?? With much sadness, I'm out.

Mind you that would be some fun road trip, 100 of us turn up, pick our vehicle then it's Cannonball Run back Scotch Corner. No outside assistance permitted.

LHD obviously doesn't put me off but around here a FWD with Winter tyres is more suitable for half the carbon footprint. We had a laugh at the weekend, the local pompiers got their Landrover stuck and were rescued by the policeman in his Jimmy; rescued in as much as he took them a couple of shovels and left them to dig themselves out.

I quite like Italian driving, it all works very well once you accept that no one has right of way under any circumstances...

Quite a logistical operation collecting 100 cars, wonder if anyone will bid...

hmmm - so they've serviced and painted 100 cars simultaneously - I bet they missed some bits 🙂

I'd be relentlessly mocked dropping the kids off to school in something so basic.

I drove in Florence once. As an italian colleague told me. Green light means go. Amber light means go faster. Red light is a basis to open negotiations.

that's not true, everyone has right of way in Italy.
I lived there for a few months and was very bored at times so used to just drive around town because it was so much fun! the lack of hesitancy is very refreshing and it does work.
it also helps that no-one gives a crap if their cars get the odd scrape.
