[#3393935]

Our house needs some painting and I've just done a couple of hours an it's put me in uch a bad mood!

I work bloody hard all week and I'm not painting at the weekend. I want to walk the dog and take the girls out.

Before you ask yes I did get a quote and it was 3 grand! (2 quotes)

Grrrrrrrrr

We got our whole house painted, all freshly plastered for £2,600. That was a good price I thought.

I only hate the preparation work. Love painting. Wouldn't ever farm it out to others though as far too tight to pay out!

I love the filling sanding etc but by the time I spend a fortnight doing that I tend to rush the painting which means the prep was a massive waste of time

£3k to paint a house! Silly question, but how effing big is it?

Don't mind painting myself (though bike riding is preferable), as others said its all the faff of prep beforehand I don't like. Just moving in to a new place with a mate (he bought it) and we're totally redecorating before we move in (any work I do is rent paid for so it's all good), but it was covered in woodchip everywhere, and underneath the walls aren't the smoothest. Lots of time already spent removing crap off the walls, and plenty more to be done before we can think of starting to paint! 🙁

Paint just a kitchen?!?! Is your kitchen about 100m2? And full of nooks and crannies.
