yes and I wonder if £160 plus VAT is a good price for one day hire? It is quite expensive, isnt it?

As I recall skip hire is not a daily rent, you rent it until it's full and /or don't need it any more.

jeepers - far too much.

Summerside Skips seem ok. Used them once.

DO NOT forget you might need a permit for where you drop it. The cooncil are very agressive on this. Check it out.

Sounds about right. Don't matter if you have it 1 day or 3 weeks it's the same price.

is it going on a street? if yes then you need permit,
if it is going in your property boundary then nope. crack on.

canal.

no seriously, you need to dispose of stuff v carefully. There is a dump at Craigmillar area (just past the Cameron Toll centre and Toyota garage on the way to the hospital) i think - or it could be Gilmerton... not sure.

You moving a few tons i would be inclined to get some help/labour/get a builder to do it.

Pavement! Oh aye. You need a permit.
You may not even be allowed actually - think of the children, and people of limited mobility.

The recycling centres are very good - Dalkeith Rd, Sighthill etc. Doubt that they'd take it by the ton, mind - if that's what you literally meant.

Stick it in Glencorse reservoir? You could drive up nae bother.

Try "dirty work clearances" - I have used them a few times you pay (IIRC) £80 a tonne and they uplift and dispose of the rubbish

I have used these guys a few times before, on the same lines as the dirty work clearances, really good service, gives you a price before he starts and is licensed to carry waste and will issue a waste transfer notice to keep you conscience clear
