what makes you think you need both? if its struggling to start on a cold morning, its glow plugs, If its struggling to start when its hot and running for a while, its the starter.
Both could go at the same time, but its a bit of a co-incidence. For the same engine in a mondeo I bought the default set from halfords and they've worked fine ever since (5 years)
I usualy buy/recomend QH stuff, but thats because they make just about every concievable part for every concievable car.
How much are the ford bits, they're not usualy particularly unreasnobly priced.
Bosch/Valeo are the better aftermarket brands for exchange starters.
(genuine ford starter is likely to be a recon valeo anyway).
Unless you're planning on getting shot of the car soon, I'd personally avoid the cheap brands.
Glow plugs, Bosch/Beru/NGK are the main brands.
For the cost of glow plugs, it's not really worth getting the cheap brands, as chances are they won't last long.
I put a cheap starter on my '99 focus diesel. Less than two years later i had to get another. Buy cheap buy twice.
