[#5484261]

Something small, only to carry lunch in, wallet etc.

Never delved into this murky world before, I'm happy lugging it around in a carrier bag, but thinking possibly time to smarten my act up.

Any recommendations/good buys?

Cheers, Barry Scott

no one *needs* a man bag. Fact.

just use a small rucksack or courier bag.

Wallet goes in your pocket.

Packed lunch goes in one of these.

Bags are for purses and makeup.

Just get a laptop bag, and put your lippy and tampons in there.

STM do some good ones.

I've got a Howies man bag. Seems to swallow everything I need but might be a bit OTT for your needs. Takes laptop, jacket, various network cables and chargers etc, pens, pads, copy of PVW etc etc

*Sigh*

I should have expected the alpha males to come strutting through 😀

Let's do this another way, requirements.

1. Must be smarter than a carrier bag.
2. Laptop bag has laptops & 7" vanity mirror in, so can't use that.
3. Not a rucksack, I'm not 12 or a hiker. I think they just look a bit daft with work attire.

This isn't going to go well is it?

I'm not into man bags but if I were, something like this would be as close to acceptable as I can think;

and you expect a man bag will somehow allow you to avoid looking daft?

Do you live in London?

I bought a frodo s from Vaho while I was in Barcelona last week.

I wanted something similar to you, needed to carry my iPad and A5 diary and notepad along with glasses and lunch for going to work. I really like the ethos of this company in re-using waste products too.

You've clearly never read my previous posts.

Jamie's laptop bags look a world better/larger than my work-issued canvas pap; think I'll plump for one of them.

I don't recall them, for sure.

Did I mistakenly assume you had some credibility to lose?

You could go for the Indiana Jones look.

I had about 10 genuine WWII civilian issue respirator bags I used when shooting for cartridge bags. When I gave up shooting I gave them away, I bought the lot for £5. Looking on ebay they go for around £30 each. 😕

I use a Timbuk2 'man-bag' - actually a small courier bag. Works for me - and I only get mild abuse of my two sons!

Why don't you make a list of all the bags on offer and which one you like and what you like about them?

Yeah, terrible idea, it was on-trend three months ago! What are you thinking?!

http://blog.debenhams.com/junes-must-have-for-men-the-canvas-bag/fashion/mens-fashion/

I've got what I think they call a "despatch" bag. What can I say, I'm a geek, my pockets are at capacity. Something like this only smaller; fits a 7" tablet, wallet, two phones (work and personal) and assorted crap without being too huge.

For life? Not sure I'd be prepared to make that sort of commitment 😕

Suit - briefcase.
Anything else - rucksack.

As for this:
[img] [/img]
br />
Jesus H Corbett in an skunkshit powered sidecar, nay, nay & thrice nay.

'Sculpted' beard, Wee Willie Winkie hat, Christmas jumper, knobster jeans and kiddies trainers?
They'd have the fillings out of your teeth before you stopped gurgling if you ponced around here dressed like that. 😀

The bag's not that bad, tbh.

I can see the point of courier bags, but a rucksac is just a much better design for actually carrying stuff.

Rather sweaty than painfull. 🙂
And the one's I use hardly touch your back. So it's a moot point.

Courier bags are not a good idea if you have to carry heavy stuff.

Tatonka Earl or Baron ... they have 3 other colours but I just like this particular colour.

Tatonka Earl or Baron.....

From the Tatonka link.....

As well as the standard access through the front, the Baron also has a "back door"

😯

Go for a smaller crumpler messenger bag? They seem pretty rugged. Failing that, just be a man and use a rucksack. Or a jacket with pockets.

Rapha Backpack. I use almost as daft Patagonia pack with suits, sports jackets and goretex.
Fashion critics will receive adjustive therapy with hammer to vertrebrae and discs to help them understand why backpack is better for injured spines like mine.
