Just saw one on tv talking to mummy and daddy and he most definitely wasn't from the streetz, very amusing, I'm just hoping most of them grow out of it and ditch the false accent 😉
I'm 40 next year, can you tell?
I'm not tj but we might get along

The tosspots of today will age too Jools, and one day they will be old tosspots too and will no doubt be moaning about they new wave of 'the yoof' with their alien fashion, accents and haircuts...as is the circle of life.

I just find it bizarre, I mean we all go through fashion and music scenes and phases, but I've never known it change our accents before

I was working in Gateshead today and did not hear one Yoof talk estuary English. Plenty of the local vernacular liberally sprinkled with Anglo Saxon. i guess it depends where in UK you are.

It's not a new phenomenon.

As a teenager at a Surrey public school in the early/mid 90's we had a fair few of these kids. One in particular was always resplendent in faux ghetto regalia, I distinctly recall him wearing one of those black baseball caps with a stainless steel plate attached to the front reading 'COMPTON'. Compton? Surbiton more like.

Oh, he was called Cornelius and his dad worked for Price Waterhouse Coopers.
