It depends what else you want to do with the map. Image maps often give a larger file size than slicing the image up and can also cause issues with screen readers.

If non of this matters then image maps are the easiest way.

Another way would be to use absolute positioning to place each stage line img on the map then each img can be used for whatever is needed.

- I have sorted what I needed - I used the Domcollapse js (have used before) to hide each stage map until the stage text is clicked to reveal it - easier than rollovers 🙂
