Right, I'm having what's probably a numpty problem with my new phone. I can send & receive email whilst in Wifi range of my router. But when using only the phone signal I can't send anything. I can still receive ok but can't reply.

My emails are also dissapearing, but that's probably related to something else ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Anyone else found a solution ?

TIA Dave.

It's to do with your email provider only letting you send from your primary account ISP address. Set up a Gmail account. Android phones love gmail obviously. You can then receive emails from both accounts on your phone and reply/send via Gmail. It's what I do.

My inbox mails also disappear after a time so it only shows recent mails - they are all still there on gmail though - I think its the HTC email client clearing out stuff and I can't find any settings for it to change. Switch to the gmail app (which is better anyway!!)

On a similar point, how do you stop it getting your mail?
I only want it to get emails when I'm away for a few days, yet there doesnt seem to be anyway of doing this, I think the lowest setting is once a day.
This is useless, as I get around 2000 spam mails a day, and dont want to get all of these automatically sent to my phone when I am at home.

Ta
Alan.

alanl - in settings > frequency you can select days. I'd imagine if you untick these, it won't update. This is on my Desire HD anyway.

Enable authentication on your SMTP server settings. Check with your email provider on how to do this.
