I'm after buying a LWB van (Sprinter or Crafter) and don't want too stung paying off someone else's debt. Do HPI checker apps work and are they all equal? Also does the finance title transfer to a new keeper ( I thought there was some discussion on the legality of this)?

HPI check online, phone or elsewhere should all access the same data. I use my text check, £3 from my phone and £5k guarantee. Just text reg number to 83600.
If it shows finance you can always pay it direct to the finance co to be safe and balance to owner.
